Oh for me on paper I like Lampard as he ticks a lot of boxes for me in that he likes to play youth and he tries to actually play somewhat attractive football. He's not exactly excelled in either of the 2 jobs he's had so far though, so I don't even know why he would come into our reckoning. He's walked into a couple of jobs and performed probably below expecations given the players at his disposal. Why would we want that?

I'd personally prefer Chrissy Wilder over Lampard, Wilder has exceeded expecations in every job he's taken. If he somehow gets a tune out of that Boro team and has them promoted in the next 18 months then I don't know what else he'll have to do to earn a crack at a club with half decent resources.

I put Wilder in the same bracket as Pearson, Warnock, Hughton & maybe Pulis. Specialists at promotions & building teams but maybe not having the style or tactical nous to make a fist of it in the Prem. The clubs with half-decent resources just don't look at them because they all want to hit "the next level" rather than just having a solid team.

.. it would have been interesting to see how Pearson handling the 2015/16 campaign!!!

Would he had gone safe or continued to play with a high tempo full press. The last nine games were pretty much g

having a go, but with a definite plan.

Just my humble opinion, I’ve always liked his team’s attacking football but am also aware of the amount of goals his Wigan and Everton teams used to concede, just think it would be entertaining to have an attack orientated team

I think we should pull out all stops to keep Rodgers. He has made mistakes, been blindsided, employed questionable tactics and instilled a somewhat counterproductive mindset (phew, now these are off my chest), he has made progress this year in changing himself and mentality. We need stability now especially if we want to have a chance of keeping Tielemans and our other star players. We must do what we can to keep Rodgers. He has no excuse now, so he must deliver too, but I don’t want a new manager who is going to repeat what Rodgers has said in the last two years about “how he is new etc etc and so long as we improve” crap.

It was pretty much because we had to win every game, can’t see how Pearson would have gone back to 442 after going on that streak playing wing backs.

we will never know…

Roberto Martinez for me, all out attack! Attainable and plays good football

All out attack is of little use if you're leaking goals and therefore keep losing. He's never actually achieved anything and, bearing in mind the quality of players he's had at his disposal in Belgian national job, they've been very disappointing. I see no redeeming features in him. It would be an appointment out of desperation for me.

Unless he'd adopted the much changed approach of Ranieri I doubt we'd have got anywhere near achieving what we did. Right man at the right time. Ranieri was light years ahead of Pearson tactically. Both have a special place in our history for different reasons.

Just wondering why you write every post in this format?

How this stuff gets published and peddled by reputable media outlets I will never know. You don’t need sources anymore - you can basically just make it up.

"Man watches sports news". Sloppy.

The irony is only a week or so ago, posters were ridiculing our fans for some of the unrealistic suggestions.

* people's opinions shocker *

On reading all this Lampard stuff in the 'press' I'm left singularly unimpressed. Unless of course he could bring Mount and a few others to LC like BR is apparently destined to take at least 3 of our most important players to Manure. Of course though it doesn't work quite like that, there are feeder clubs and those with too much money to be feeder clubs. Clearly Lampard isn't that good a manager as within a few months of him leaving the same players went from meh to European Champions.

If you think we concede a lot of goals from set pieces under Rodgers then just you wait until we have Martinez as our manager...

Sean Dyche for me. His strengths are currently every weakness that we have.

Makes his sides solid at the back. Plays 2 up top. His teams play with pride and plenty of balls. No soft players. Proper tough. I’d love to know what he could do with a budget and a proper set of players.

Our board won't go with Lampard. Too risky for a club in our position where we need to continue challenging to regularly break into top 6 whilst also maintain our reputation and increased status as a club.

If we were to get Lampard (and I don't think we will, it's just lazy journalism) I think we'd take considerable steps back before we go forward. When in fact we need to maintain the stability of where we have achieved in last 2-3 seasons and then push on.

Basically if Rodgers goes, I think Top & co will consider someone very experienced and reliable as opposed to giving someone relatively inexperienced a chance.

...Dyche reminds me of Moyes, kept the team in the league had one or two players who could play for the top teams but chose to stay at Everton and was never in a situation where relegation was an issue.

Some fans would be happy with that, but you can't sit and stagnate and call it an achievement.

I suppose as a experiment it would be Interesting to see how he deals with a club with ambition and an increased spending budget. I am not sure I want to be a guinea-pig to prove if it will be successful, but it might work, the problem is Moyes had to go away in order for him to look at the game in a different light, I think he wasted a few years stagnating with Everton.

Top grew up watching cheksea and frank.  I expect that if there was a vacancy then too would hire Lampard.

He probably watched Mickey Mouse as well
