This is probably our single biggest issue this season. We never win if Lawro predicts it.

When we were playing well he had us down for a defeat every week, for some bizarre reason he's taken to predicting wins this season, despite our form being terrible.

It’s because he’s evil. He knows.

Didn't he? How do you know this?

Actually both came on in the first game of the season against Sunderland whilst Kante was brought on in all of the preceding games and had started against Stoke and the home game against Arsenal that you mention.

Fuchs hadn't played outside the first game of the season, but both he and Simpson had replaced De Laet and Schlupp as fbs against Norwich by then their defensive frailties were costing us. The latter was moved into mf for the Norwich game and used as an impact substitution for the remainder of the season. If Claudio hadn't effected these changes, we would never have won the title.

How do I know this? because it was said at the time he did not want to sign Kante but the deal had already been set up before he came, that is how I know

I hadn’t heard anything about Fuchs. I doubt he could have had much objection to CF on a free

ref Kante :  it took some time for Walsh to convince him to agree to it. Walsh is on record as badgering him daily to give it the green light.

Who precisely said that at the time? I ask because on more than one occasion, Ranieri from his own mouth said he was just the coach and had no say in signings and was quite happy with that. It seems strange if that's true, if he's just arrived at a club with that understanding, why would he object to having a player he would know little or nothing about?

Speaking of Fuchs, he is the captain of my local MLS team that I have season tickets for next season(Charlotte FC). Can't wait to see him in action:D

Ranieri didnt want Kante everyman and his dog knows that. Circumstances threw him in and then he proved to be world class. Without Kante we would not of won the titrle

But if you think otherwise thats fine im not going to keep saying it

I was a little shocked to see Watford are only 2 points behind us in the table, and therefore will go above us if they win. Surely, that can't happen?

If we start slowly, lose our usual early goal, and Brendan resorts to his seal impressions to motivate, I shall do my nut.

Come on boys step up and give us a break.

Why are people searching for ways to discredit the manager who won the Premier League for us?

Who cares how he did it - he did it.:scarf:

He has Watford playing some good attacking football… wish he had continued to develop us in that way at the time. Always a legend no doubt but he did try to take us too a more controlled side far too early lol

This.

I think Walsh is on record as having to seriously convince Ranieri to sign Kante.

Everytime they walked by each other at the training ground, Walsh would say "Sign Kante".

Claudio actually played him on the wing for his first few appearances if I remember correctly?

I'm sure he did away at Bournemouth.

It sure what to think, Watford are far handier than their slow start suggests.

Interesting to see if Claudio has genuinely lifted them, or if this is a new manager bounce.

Either way we can’t defend to save our lives, and Watford seem to be scoring hat fulls.

3-3 draw for me. I’m not confident we are in good enough form to win this.

Fuchs was signed by Pearson before his sacking, no? Never got to play under him though

Yes, signed, went on holiday and told Pearson had been sacked. Not a great start but ended well :D

You’ve completely embellished the story.

Fuchs was signed before Ranieri came on board but it’s not like Ranieri was resisting playing him. Obviously it takes some time for a new manager to assess his side and we had a left back in the side that was part of an incredible run at the end of the prior season.

And Claudio took some gentle persuading on Kanté from Walsh. That’s it. It was never going to be a straightforward transfer deal for Kanté and it clearly didn’t take too long for Ranieri to come around on the deal.

Claudio always said he did not set out to flip over the apple cart right away and he was going to gradually work in his ideas.

And, guess what? It worked magically, Claudio had the guys on his side from day one and he was still winning games with us before he unlocked the lineup that would tear apart the league.

To be fair, I'd take Kanté at RW for us over any of our current options!

Yes he did I totally agree and then he locked it and nearly took us down as he really isant a good manager. But he did give us the greatest season ever.

The best quote from Walsh was after the Everton game when we got the trophy, it was something like "We had 3 in the centre of the pitch, Drinkwater in the middle and Kante either side" lol

Yes he was, but I was asking for evidence that Ranieri didn't want him.

Simply repeatedly saying something over the internet does not make it true. Circumstances did not throw him in at all, as I have already shown.

Without Kante we wouldn't have won the title, I agree, as would most. What does that have to do with the fact that you incorrectly claimed that Ranieri didn't play him until after the Arsenal loss?
