2 pages slating Newcastle based on one guy's badly written opinion.

Most Newcastle fans I know are fairly grounded.

Like scouser's they're all sound to talk too. But I have this weird view that they're different from everyone else and a bit superior when it comes to support for their football team.

Definitely a northern thing .

It didn’t matter that we went down to 4-0 because our fans kept singing and they showed what we truly are.

Maybe if they stopped acting like they were loving it when getting pasted, the players might actually respond with some fight.

Assume he's going for foundation level. Might get him to that magic GCSE C grade, if it even hits the word count.

Predictable-and-a-bit-nauseating/10.

Not beating these on the final day in 1992 and consigning them to the footballing scrap heap is one of the worst things we’ve done as a club

What a mad day that was.

Yes that was the narrative of that final game of the season. We could go up automatically with a win and they could go down if they lost.

The reality is that, despite the excitement of the pitch invasion, the result had no bearing on anything. If we’d won we wouldn’t have gone up and they wouldn’t have gone down.

The result was meaningless in the end!

Not for the fans fighting on the pitch.

Maybe so, but the reply was to the following quote:

“Not beating these on the final day in 1992 and consigning them to the footballing scrap heap is one of the worst things we’ve done as a club”

It wasn’t: “one of the worst things we’ve done as a club” because it wasn’t in our hands. As it happened we could have beaten them 10-0 and they’d still have stayed up and we’d still have only been in the playoffs

So an armchair dwelling plastic Geordie fan writes an article on his hometown club basically saying they’re  plastic … oh the irony

I think it's all about how the media want to portray certain fans and it eventually gets into our heads as fact. We're told how great Crystal Palace fans are, the knowledgeable and cheeky scousers, the passion of the North East, God's own Yorkshire, the Irish funsters, the loveable Tartan Army (as they trash everywhere they go), only the Welsh can sing you know, Wolves are a big club because they had floodlights in the 50's and on it goes. It's repeated over and over so must be true.

Can someone please contact the Premier League and award Newcastle the three points for singing a song and absolutely deserving everything

Don't joke about it... I'm sure their owners will be considering this, and with their track record, nothing is off the table. They can walk all over the Premier League decision makers as proved by the deal going through in the first place.

In all seriousness, I'd be shocked if they ended up relegated this year, and think by the end of the season, we might be looking back at them surviving off the back of a string of unusual events.

As for atmosphere. the awful goal music is a rare bad move by the club.  It kills the raw intensity of the goal celebration instantly.

Having said that, didn't we make the earth move and break records for Leo's goal against Norwich?

Different team I know, but I work with a Cov fan…. The bloke is probably level pegged with the delusion of this lot….

His claims to me recently were;

“Why are yous increasing your capacity, yous don’t even fill the stadium now”

”Brendan is genuinely bigger than your club”

”Our FA cup win was definitely more impressive than yours”

”Potter leaving Brighton to join yous is at a push a sidewards step if not back”

”Your training ground ain’t even that great, it’s probably about as good as Derby”

You could say they’re flippant comments but his steadfast approach and his constant niggling just prove the bloke is genuinely deadly serious. His denial is amazing.

I'd forgotten all about Coventry.

I think I preferred it that way.
