We’re a strange bunch, we’ve been incredible at times, others utterly shocking. We seem to need something out of the ordinary to get people going.

Perhaps it’s because we, more than many clubs have experienced such extreme highs and lows… average, boring, run of the mill doesn’t really get people going with their support any more (disappointing as that might be)

Chuck in the shite the club have pulled splitting fans all over the place and it’s not a massive shock.

Travelling Newcastle fans were good on Sunday, but then lots of groups of travelling fans are, but then Newcastle fans can be quite a self congratulatory bunch regarding how "well" they support their team.

Several times i've been to St James where the atmosphere has been as flat as a pancake, except when they're booing.

Just read it, he says he was born and brought up in Leicester, but his love is for Newcastle! He thinks they deserve success just because they are bigger in attendance than Leicester. Maybe he has to look at how Newcastle was run first and reserve his argument for them

This is just it really.

Almost every club's away fans travel round the country shouting "IS THIS A LIBRARY LOLOL", "SHALL WE SING A SONG FOR YOU ROFL", "YOUR SUPPORT IS FVCKING SHIT PMSL" like it's amazing, cutting banter with absolutely no sense of irony or self awareness given the fact we've quite blatantly also been to THEIR gaff and sung exactly the same crap at them because the situation is the same there.

It's just an accepted truism these days that away supporters typically make more noise than the home support, who are typically very sterile right across the top flight. I've been to more or less every ground in the top flight I think and probably the only time I've ever gone "oh wow, we're totally getting outsung here" (and keep in mind that Leicester's away support isn't exactly brilliant either, that's quite a statement) was at Wolves.

Fair play, Wolves' home support is pretty vocal. The rest is shit. Even Palace is ludicrously deceptive because Sky Sports love to mic up the Holmesdale lot and pretend that the rest of the ground isn't sitting in abject silence.

The "big clubs" tend to be the most drastic because United, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and I'll even throw Everton in here, turn up in pretty big numbers away and - fair play - make quite a big of noise but all of their home crowds are just stuffy, corporate, silent, dead, morbid holes (unless they're booing.)

The biggest lies in football are the "glorious" atmospheres of Anfield, St James' Park and Goodison.

Would add Villa to the end of that list. Our game last week was played in near silence for most parts.

I don't think anybody doubts how amazing Newcastles support is but who gives a shit? They are a big club in terms of fan base and stadium and are absolute crap in terms of everything else. They haven't come close to winning a trophy since Keegan was challenging for the title with them back in the 90s and have been an absolute shambles of a club for years. The underlying theme of this guys blog is that fans of most clubs similar to Newcastle are jealous of our club, our owners and what we've achieved. It's all well and good having an amazing fan base but ultimately most football fans want to see their club being successful.

Weird article but do you expect anything different from that delued lot.

"Just from our support we deserve success" - they speak as if they're the only club to travel. People always mention their numbers home and away, which are great no doubt about it, but Newcastle is literally massive one Club City with no other league clubs near them.

Don't care how they travel, I've been to St James' 4 times and an each occassion it's been like a library (unless they're booing of course).

What makes it worse is that they were loud for abit in the first half, loud at the start of the second before going quiet and just piped up again for a laugh after being spanked. They're hardly some sort of bastion of noise. They just buy into the whole 'it means more up here' crap.

“We are unique. We are special. We are Newcastle United.“

**** off hahahahahaaha

Remove the Newcastle United bit and that’s remarkably similar to what my mother used to say after I’d bombed horrifically in the 200m in primary school.

Not cringed that bad in a while whilst reading that. Honestly don't dislike them as a club, brilliant city with good travelling fans but they are so entitled its untrue. Was on the fence about wanting them to go down but that's tipped me over the edge, lol hope they do.

Newcastle fans don't half love themselves, do they...jeez

As a collective they're a bunch of self appointed best in the world dreamers.

I hope they go down and their mercenary new owners pull the plug
