So proud of the lads tonight, was expecting a tonking and they defended for their lives.
 

Helped by amazing support especially for the last 10 minutes - if there was any evidence for people to support their team this was it

This is what footballs all about and the reason you love it. We haven’t had many of these moments this season but enjoy it whilst you can.

 

Hopefully the lads push on from here and they get the support off the fans as they did tonight.

Even before his words about us after the game I've always thought he speaks very very well, upfront and honest and without the pre planned scripted shite most players come out with.

Got done 6-3 at the Etihad and we’ve kept a clean sheet against them. They’ll be absolutely raging lol

OK, goading of the eternal victims aside (new Tottenhamesque rivalry perhaps?), what a performance.

 

Luke Thomas MOTM. His best game in a City shirt. Kept both Salah and TAA in his back pocket all game and some brilliant well-timed challenges when needed.

 

Ndidi take a bow, but special mention to THE INEVITABLE Daniel Amartey. His best performance at Centre Back for us. Absolutely baffling but given our farcical situation, I think he might actually be our best CB currently.

 

Castagne the more quiet of our fullbacks, but again, solid performance. Our whole backline, brilliant.

 

Was iffy on us taking off Hamza, because while we were obviously under the cosh, his dirty work breaking up attacks was keeping us in it. I feared a similar situation to Crystal Palace with a change of shape, but credit where it's due - the change of shape gave us the bodies to take a chance, and it fell nicely to Lookman to finish from a tight angle and ultimately win us the game.

 

And on a more general basis, I loved seeing him get box-to-box today, again doing the dirty work and making up somewhat for the loss of Choudhury on the hour. Another great performance and, unless my drunken posts earlier didn't make it obvious, I would be more than happy to sign him permanently in the summer if he keeps playing like this. ❤️

 

Last thought - can we play late games every week please? Crowd was great tonight compared to our usual meek standards. Convinced our 20-minute round of 'Brendan Rodgers' blue and white army' carried the players through a predictable late onslaught from them.
