Especially if we snuck a sell-on clause in

Love the idea of this, we somehow snuck an extra cost into an 80m deal - but suppose it was Man Utd at their most ridiculous!!

Well if Chelsea hadn't tapped him up they could have always offered him 160k per week instead of jumping the gun and saying 200 and then just pay us the extra 10 million saved on wages over the next 5 years and it would have been job done if he was that desperate to go to Chelsea.

The problem is that basically every transfer involves tapping up.

This is real life, not FM. Obviously a club is going to speak to a player’s agent to gauge interest prior to putting an offer to their club.

Brendan Rodgers literally said in an interview the other day how he’d been on his phone to several transfer targets but he’d not been able to get the club to put offers in.

Chelsea will wait til the last day and pay the money like Drinkwater leaving us with no chance to sign a replacement

We'll sign Bednarek 14 seconds late

Find it odd that at the moment Chelsea are £10 m short of our £80m valuation. We will be on £200k per week, roughly £10m per annum, so if Wes really wants to go, forfeit a years money at Chelsea, sign a five year contract and still earn more than he would by staying at Leicester.

He is going, but find it odd both clubs do all the sweating, yet he sits there chuntering about a move when he could make it work simply by playing for the love of it, and not just the money....never going to happen....but in normal give and take business deals fairly simple solution. You want it Wes?Take the pain

It’s more than £10m

our valuation is actually £80m+.  Not 80m inc god knows what in add ons

I would say that they are currently around £15m short taking into account that they offered the £60m up front so we don’t  have to get banks involved

The actual profit on this guy would actually be in region of 29 million not bad but not what people think. You say 2 cbs, does that mean we get 2 Vestergaards for that profit?

Well, I did use a full stop and not a comma…

Surely we can stipulate a time limit on allowing Fofana to leave?

If we can’t replace him, at this point we may as well reject bids of £100m as he needs to sort his head out and get back into the team.

He’ll only go if we have a replacement lined up. The club may be a mess at the moment, but we haven’t gone insane.

Latest BS on News Now is Chelsea will play games and make it look like they are going after alternative CB’s to force our hand.  Makes perfect sense that one. Really?

It makes fofana even more frustrated

their calculation is that we’ve made plans to make signings on the back of this deal going through and they reckon we’ll take less than we’ve asked for - imagine we’ve lined up a decent CB and a winger. Are we going to lose those targets for the sake of £10m ??
usually we would just stick to our guns

Let’s go lol

How are you still 15m under valuation price? Keep him here in the ressies just to prove a point.

...we need to come out and set a a price of £100m!!!

That way Chelaea stops inching their way to £80m as they  think that is what we are looking for. With the prices they are throwing around for players at the moment,  we would get it or just under. Just saying not for sale will  continue to drive the price up, but we are under time constraints, and we should be in control of this.

Something else the club is not handling well, we do look like am amateur set up.

Athtetic say Susan Whelan is directly involved in the transfer discussions, reassuring to know she’s leading on this given her reputation as a strong business person.

Chelsea will not pay what we are supposedly asking and Fofana's recent behaviour has reinforced that. There is a strange dichotomy on here , we don't want to sell him from many because of the weakness of our defense - we do want to sell him because we are absolutely desperate for money from others. If there was a competition for his signing ,we would be in a stronger position but there is not.  In my opinion , if we are desperate for money , we will have to blink first.

This, unfortunately. This moron hasn’t started to skip training session because he has a cold. He’s being a good little lap dog and following orders to bring that price down.

The least bit of respect he should’ve shown us is to allow us to negotiate this deal on our terms. We should’ve left him on the pitch after that tackle.
