I’ve got over Sunday. Absolutely rotten but I wouldn’t sack him now, not sure if I want him on the rebuild. Can’t work the whole thing out though. Back where I was after Napoli, ambivalent towards him but more furious with some these players. Sure mentality starts at the top but some this lot would be wet wipes under anyone. The foundations are still clearly there going forward, just need a backbone.

We’ve got a bad run of fixtures and we could very well be looking over our shoulder after them. Might change my mind for definite then.

I think we've got to be slightly careful, there's probably still annoyance in the game at Ranieri going (correct decision though it was) and sacking another trophy winning manager within a year isn't the best look.

It's partly why I think the owners are holding fire. However much we look into it, outsiders may look at it differently.

I don’t think they really care what others think, if they feel he can’t do the job and can’t turn this bad form around he will be gone. It is worse for the club to hold onto a manager and drop down the table then having a few media outlets crying

I think @Cardiff_Fox mentioned that they are still a bit wary of image after Ranieri leaving and Rodgers would be given until it was a lost cause. I don't think we're at that stage yet but the next few weeks will be telling after his comments.

Well that's the thing. We can get relegated (unlikely though), and we do have something to play for in terms of success (in Europe). This season is entirely salvageable.

Either he's here for this 'rebuild', or he's not. If he's not then what's the point in dragging this out?

If he is, then God help us.

Pochettino?

lol

.....I should think United!!!

I would not want him here, if the players thought that they have had it bad in training, they have not seen anything yet, he is relentless. Very dogmatic and unbending, needs to be in a role for more than one season, he needs to put things in place before you see the fruits of his labour.

Not a route we should be going down. If Conte was an option, the answer would still be no, although he is a winner, he is very much short term and does not stay in a role long enough for the grass to grow.

Gasperini would be a good move, if we manage to stay in Europe at least we will have a manager who knows how to compete in their tournaments.

Potter or Cooper are up and coming, they just need to be open minded otherwise they will become stuck in the same way that Rodgers has become.

i don’t think our owners would consider anything other than the long term financial security of the club. I don’t think relegation is a likelihood but missing out on Europe definitely is. Winning the FA cup is great and it was a dream for the fans but that doesn’t compare financially to regularly missing out on Europe- I hate to say it but that’s where the owners will be looking.

I hate the argument of waiting until the end of the season to sack a manager…

it’s important that the new manager gets to see the issues first hand, before the transfer window.

That image didn't stop one of the most sought after managers in Rodgers coming here. He got a huge salary and inherited a good squad. That will still be the case for any new manager. I don't think there's many managers in football that would see Rodgers sacking as unjustified given whats happened.

That said, I'd give Rodgers chance to rebuild this. As much as we go on about how many times he's come up short, it's only really us as a fanbase that's properly seen it like that. This is the first time I've seen the outside world, including pundits, take aim at him and so many saying he could go.

When he was losing so many while we were in Champions League places it was always a case of oh it's only Leicester anyway. When we lost in the Europa it was "a failure but they've overachieved anyway". Now there's no hiding for him and his reputation is on the line. I think that's worth seeing what could happen just because of that.

That presumes you can get the man you want now, that's not always possible.

let's wait till April

We could get relegated and we have a European trophy still to play for. There’s every reason to bin him now.

Good point Babs but the same applies to the summer. The one thing we need to avoid at all costs is a long protracted process over preseason leaving any appointment no time to prepare the squad for the season ahead. Even if we don't find the right manager now it improves the likelihood of having someone in place ahead of the new season.

  • £20m payoff
  • No obvious better alternatives guaranteed to want the job
  • Uncertainity on what has actually happened

Gennaro Gattuso is reported to be under consideration by Leicester City as pressure grows on manager Brendan Rodgers after a poor run of form

Not sure if it'd want him to be behind the summer overhaul to be honest. After forcing us to sign Vestergaard and Bertrand he needs to stick to coaching. Leave the recruitment side to people that know what they're doing.

Can't get relegated? Have they changed the rules?

Be releastic, it's not gonna happen. Are Watford/Norwich/Burnley gonna start winning every week?
