Oh my goodness, wrong on both accounts. He's a perfectly fine coach if one dimensional, did very well with Milan with little support. And he said, in 2008, that he didn't believe gay people should get married in a church. Is that homophobia? Correct me if I'm wrong and it is, but it seems quite reasonable to me - if in this day and age we're all about supporting people's rights to religious freedoms such as wearing the hijab, it seems reasonable to respect the wishes of catholics to not marry gay people in churches. We may as well write off the average Muslim, or even any relatively devout Christian, as any sort of candidate for managing Leicester if we draw the line at Gattuso.

 

In literally the same quote, he said "this is 2008 and everyone can do as they please" with regards to gay people. Keep in mind, in 2008 Obama was saying that gay people shouldn't get married on his election trail, and Irelands current guy prime minister was saying much the same as well.

 

I don't want him to replace Rodgers - I'm still not sure I want Rodgers gone- but to act like we as a club are somehow above him on a personal level is ridiculous.

 

I've written this all out and I'm not sure if it's a hill I want to die on or if this opinion will be seriously unpopular, but I know several perfectly reasonable people who have no problem with gay people in their lives that hold the same opinion, and it just seems harsh and unfair to me to declare him unfit to manage us on such a flimsy standing.
