Neil Lennon.  Journeyman midfielder who had been at Crewe for six years.  I was wrong.

Also Claridge and Ranieri.

I've got more wrong that turned out to be duds that I thought would be good.  I'm looking at you Adrien Silva!

And then there are those that I thought were good, turned out to be rubbish and then turned out to be good after all.   Morning Kelechi!

Knocky. Bit harsh to say underwhelming, but certainly not expecting him to do what he did. Not the quickest on the pitch, but the first player I found really exciting to watch for a good while.

Joey Gudjonsson and Matt Oakley deserve a mention from me too.

Really I remember being very happy with albrighton and schmeichel. Thought they were both good before they came here. Mind you I thought that about Vesty. He may still come good if he gets fit.

I was unsure on Albrighton because he came on as a sub against us for Wigan in the Championship. It felt like his career was starting to stall at that point, although I don't remember the full circumstances of his loan. I couldn't have been more wrong when you look at what he's done with us since!

Steve Claridge, thought he was an overweight, scruffy. slow useless waste of time that we had well overpaid for.

Turned out to be the LCFC legend of the 90s. :appl:

Claridge - I still remember that. I was a kid and was so angry. "Only we can drop Joachim and sign a guy from Birmingham I havent heard of". So wrong. He was so important in the playoff season and the Premier League season after.

Andrew impey and Gerry taggart

I'd go the other way with Impey. Was really pleased with his signing - he'd looked good for both QPR and West Ham and Redknapp was angry he'd been sold.

Thought he was a huge let down here.

perhaps wasn't best suited as a wing back, but my memory of no-neck was that he was decent

Ulloa

That’s a good call. Remember thinking he was an average Championship forward we’d just broke our transfer record on. Brighton fans seemed delighted we’d spent £8mil on him.

Must have repaid that 20 times over with his crucial goals in the great escape and title winning seasons though.

Leonardo Ulloa for me. I was disappointed when we signed him as our main outlay in the summer and my mate who supported Brighton took the piss out of the fee we paid. I had a £20 bet with him that he'd score 10+ goals for us in his first season, more out of sheer spite for being ribbed than belief. Anyway, did somebody say earthquake? Good lad Leo!

Muzzy Izzet. I remember the announcer saying "Hello everyone, the Leicester City substitute is Muzzy Izzet" and the entire cop starting shouting "who?"

Yep that’s my memory of it
