His record with Evans was pretty poor compared to Soyuncu's record with Evans.

As we all said when he joined Man United, he was the weaker of the Maguire-Evans partnership.

We signed an ex player of theirs for £3 million, who is far superior to the guy they paid us £80 million for.

We need the 'Dominant' CB, the 'Leader'.

Maguire seems to me to be a guy who requires someone next to him telling him what to do....Varane is the same actually and not a leader, he looked far better when he had that with Ramos at Madrid.

We need a Huth/Evans, rather than a Morgan/Soyuncu.

Couldn't stand him when he played for us. Certainly never want him back.

His wages will be an issue wherever he goes, can't see him wanting to take a major pay cut unless Utd cover half or more of his wages.

Not a chance , he would ask for 200 grand a week. We cannot do that.

That’s why Newcastle United would be a possible move they can afford his wages. Newcastle will in time be able to offer more than Leicester in challenging for trophies because they’ve got endless financial resources. Plus I doubt Harry would want to return anyway.

I cringe when I think about that 'Harry Maguire, we want you to stay' chant

Bournemouth would be an excellent choice for him as he could offer Donkey rides on the beach in the off season.  Taking him back under any circumstances would be a mistake of humongous proportions.  No more dead wood please recruitment dept.

If price and wages were right I’d 100% take him. Think we all knew his lack of pace could cost him at a higher level but no doubt he’s the aerial force we need at the back.

Has Newcastle written all over it if he leaves though.

In his final season with us he cost us numerous times. And surely the aim is to aspire to reach that higher level?

Taking him back would taint the £80m daylight robbery as well for me

He might be less than great, but he is the starting CB for England. He'll be overpriced, probably around £60. My bet would be Everton, but yeah, Newcastle would also spend the money.

...that much!!!

Probably worth a punt then, don't blame me if it doesn't work out.

He’d solve a large number of our issues.

He was never worth the money Manchester United paid and we all knew that.

He’s still a good defender but not in the best defenders within a generation. That’s what makes the fee seem crazy.

VVD, Ramos, Pepe, Cannavaro, Puyol, Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic, Maldini ….. Maguire.

I’d still take him back for the right price / wages. Not that he’d come here in fairness.

I’d see him going to Newcastle.

Yes but Evans is a lot older and Maguire hasn’t been injured so I don’t get your point. Of course Evans in his prime is better.

Solid CB and would help us out no end aerially and on the ball, but I can't imagine he'd represent value for money. Also I'm not sure I can handle having the bloke around, looks like a sulking school kid half the time and is way too smug when he does something positive once every 3 months lol

I do wonder how Maguire would act if they try and force him out. He has three years left on his contract, is team captain, and and England starter. Would he accept going to Newcastle or Everton? Both are probably a few years away from European football, and even they might hesitate at matching his wages, even if they are willing to stump up a fee. I can't see any of the other Rich 6 wanting him. Would he fit into any European big side?
