He will end up at Newcastle in a couple of years. They’ll be the only club stupid enough to throw the kind of money it would take.

For free or a relatively low fee and him taking a massive wage cut then I would possibly consider it

If not then no chance, wouldn’t want him here on nearly £200k a week

Week after week he just seems to make himself a bit of laughing stock currently

He’s a decent stopper and good coming out with the ball.

he isn’t suited to a top side who want to be going forward all the time, playing a high line without decent cdm cover and v quick CB alongside ……

Not sure where he will fit after United ……. maybe Everton ?

I really don't think he's ever been that good at coming out with the ball to be honest. He was so ponderous and slow that by the time he'd reach the halfway line, the opposition was reorganised back in their own half, in our case, marking Vardy! He then couldn't get back he was such a big lump and we only got away with it because we had Evans who could read the situation. At United, there's no Evans and Maguire has been fully exposed therefore.

I think when he looks back over his career, his best days have been wearing an England shirt. His performance levels seem to go up that extra 5-10%. He would be better to get out of United now and start a fresh. I don't think he would consider coming back here neither should we want him back. We have moved on. Someone with money to burn will take him.

Odds on it'll be head choppers (Newcastle) then.

Too much too soon for Harry imo, it's only human to be carried along on a wave of adulation and to believe the hype, a world record fee consciously or otherwise suggests this is the best (defender) in the world!

Plainly never the case and never will be but which of us wouldn't want to believe it if it was us?

Personally l hope he succeeds just not with manure.

International football is so different to club football, especially in the premier league, it's almost a different sport! It's generally played at a slower pace and teams are not as organised and cohesive because they don't play together as much.

Well he won player of the season here in his first year, so our fans obviously rated him.

It was a travesty that Vardy didn’t win that year, mind.

That is true. How many on here wet their pants when he was picked for England.

Everybody (apart from the Man United board it seems) knew he wasn’t worth that money when we sold him, it was Andy Carroll to Liverpool level of stupidity but he was decent for us.

With that said when a Man United fan at work was taunting me about them ‘stealing’ one of our best players (I think you’ll find one Club was stealing but it wasn’t Man United) I said to him he wasn’t even our best centre half, Jonny Evans was, he just laughed. I was being deadly serious. Maguire was great bringing the ball out, decent passer and good in the air but his positional sense was a good as a pissed bloke who’d been on the waltzers for an hour and he moved like an oil tanker in treacle.

It is mad he’s a guaranteed starter for them given his form over the past 2.5 years

I feel that the reverse is true !! The quality of the opposition drops  at least 10% at International level & the speed & intensity is very rarely there. The Premier league will expose a players shortcomings very quickly.

I doubt very much that too many clubs would be interested in assuming his wages. Even Newcastle are smarter than that.

....It would be a smart move to go to Newcastle, they can afford his wages and you get a experienced Premier League player!!!

Bit of a no brainer I would say.

Yes he is experienced but unfortunately he is not very good & actually appears to be getting worse !!

If Eddie Howe has any input into Newcastles transfers I don't see him endorsing that kind of player.

Man U typically pay the kind of wages that make it difficult to move underperforming players.

....Newcastle have the money but are nowhere near the status of Man. United, it will be a short period of time when they will be expecting to be top 6!!!

They will buy this experience, lesser financed teams would take much longer, Newcastle will take 18 months. In this market, money bridges the gaps quite easily, it would make sense that he goes there.

The fridge is getting worse week in week out he was Dreadful against Man City he looks like he’s about 45 seconds behind everyone else with his positioning and going in for tackles it’s almost like doesn’t know where he is most times he goes for the ball, so glad we sold him to Manure for a steal😂

I must be in a minority  as I cant understand the vitriol  for him.

Yes it's a joke he signed for such a fee, yes it's funny how hes struggling but overall he played well for us, didn't cause a scene whilst he was here  and did(On paper) sign for one of the biggest clubs in the World.

I'd even wish him a decent career  as long as he always plays crap against us.

Even with their ridiculous wage structure, I doubt they'll be able to afford him on a Championship budget

Man U fans were told they were getting the next VVD & are obviously disappointed with the very average performances. The fact that Ole made him Captain right away put Harry in a shitty position & he has struggled to perform.

I can understand why the Man U fans resent him !! I don't think most LCFC hate him, they are just happy with the sale.

I think that many of us had those type of conversations with Man United fans. Obviously they'd had Evans and they seemed to think that my suggestion of him being better than Maguire was just sour grapes.

Mind you I remember having an argument with a Forest fan who was quite insistent that Jack Hobbs was a better player than Wes Morgan.

Used to really annoy me that Maguire would make a mistake and nobody would say anything yet Morgan would make a mistake and everybody would crucify him.

Are you surprised? This is FT

I agree.

I wonder how many of our squad ,back then or now ,would jump at the chance of playing for United, if Leicester were happy with the fee offered.

Possibly even our greatest ever player might have gone for it.

Turning down Arsenal is one thing , but not many say No when Utd come calling.
