He might help with set pieces but he's not a great leader which is what we need. Comparing players at their peak levels and he's miles behind Evans, Soyuncu and Fofana. As others have said, Newcastle looks like his kind of move.

I wouldn't...Cags has gone through a bad period, but he will find himself again...

The way I see it he had a purple patch of one season out of 4 years with us rather than the small rut being the exception. I hope you are right though obviously.

To be fair to Harry Maguire he never slagged club off or said anything or took the piss like certain players who jumped ship.

If I remember he played a couple of pre season games and Man utd came in and signed him. He never said he wanted to leave.

He was professional about it all..

Not saying I’d have him back,

But other players who jumped ship are far worse… just saying.

Enough of being sensible, you are supposed to hate him with every vessel of blood bubbling, thats the foxestalk way.

I hold Mahrez in a much higher regard compared to someone like Maguire, he couldn't give a shit about us.

I'd take him. Yes he's slow, yes he has the turning circle of a barge, but he's great in the air and great in possession, the latter being exactly what suits a Brendan Rodgers side and the former definitely what we're missing in both boxes.

The memes may just be making him look a whole lot worse than he actually is.

We can’t take him back. Imagine manure singing our song back to us. Seriously we moan about the pace of vesty. He’s good in the air and can bring it forward very well but I remember that costing us in games when He lost the ball upfield and couldn’t run back. We need a genuine leader and his wage demands would upset better players than him. I do like him but that ship has sailed. Salisu from Southampton would be a better shout.

he actually hasn't played under a decent manager since he left tbh. i feel he's gone backwards. i don't think he's handled the pressure that well in playing for utd and the fee probably didn't help him.

Only if he lies face down in the centre circle in the shape of a cross for 24 hours like the Knights of Olde used to do to prove their loyalty to the crown.

Seriously.

Shame can’t be said about his brother!!

I’ve never understood the vicious hatred for Maguire here.  He played pretty good football for us, didn’t make a meal of his movement to a big club, and earned us way too much money.  Whatever you think of his play since his treatment is pretty harsh.

Would I want him back?  On a free, or modest fee (Which MU would never do)?  Sure.  He has limitations but what he does he does very well.

Interesting that when OP mentions players that 'took the piss' and 'slagged us off' without mentioning any names, you immediately think of Mahrez.

That's why I don't hold Mahrez in higher regard,

Wow, he was good enough for a club to pay 80m for him when he played for us.

We need someone that can head the ball.   For the right price, would definitely take him back.

I really don't understand this vitriol aimed at Harry Maguire. Some on here are behaving like jilted fluff.

I doubt he'd want to come back, nor do I think he'd fit our system but he's better than what we have other than Fofana

Looks like Manure are looking at replacing him, would you take him back if the price was right?

Are there any credible links that they want to sell him? What a humiliating admission by United that they got this transfer wrong

Give the guy a break. He practically built Seagrave on his own.

I haven't seen anyone really slag him off more that people just don’t seem to rate him.
