We don’t know no-one wants him. There will likely be interest but soy could just be biding his time waiting for the right club for him. There’s potentially multiple factors for why he’s not left by now

While that's true, We haven't heard of any interest other than possibly Newcastle. Given his salary and the fact that he turned down a new contract, He's already cost himself 3 million pounds by not signing a new Contract. His current Salary makes him affordable to a lot of Clubs which makes it all a little strange or else he's being badly advised.

Behind a paywall, so can’t read it myself. Maybe someone else can oblige?

Going to pick out the "main" points:

- Disappointed when we didn't keep Under but felt Rodgers handled the difficult situation well - "no problems, he had some injuries, played well when he played, he wanted to stay"

- Lucky to have been given fantastic chance by Leicester, as long as he is here he will give 100%, priority is Leicester

- Not too sure if it is written incorrectly or means something else but he says "Leicester would be the first option for me if there is a transfer opportunity"

 - Huge respect for Rodgers, very hands-on, if he spots something in training he will stop them and talk and show them through it

Article also goes through:

When he was a youth player and how tough it was

About last season

Vardy

Vichai

Maddison

English Football

Praying / Religion

Turkey

Seems like he enjoys being here then.

Wonder what the contract stuff was about. Did we actually offer him one? If so, how comes he's not signed it - was he waiting for a bigger club to come in and bid?

If you talk with respect about the club you're at, then fair enough - I'll always want players to come good after being out of form. Perhaps he had other distractions but the general squad situation didn't help anyone, not least defenders. And some are suited to a partnership instead of back 3.

I hope he comes good again. He's quite clearly a good and competent player. I do feel like he's one that could be sacrificed should we be forced to sell an 'asset'.

What a read that is. He sounds like a really down to earth bloke.

Fair play to him.

Wonder if we have offered him a new deal? Sounds like he wants to stay…

...his performance in the last game suggested something had happened which was positive for him!!!

He was energetic and innovative when supporting the attack and his ball skills came to the fore. I wasn't expecting him to say anything different from what he said, whether he was leaving or looking to sign a new contract.

If we can keep Soy then we don't really need a defender so go all out for a RW

My preference would be keep Soy, sell Amartey, replace him with a young CB to develop and ultimately cover us as Evans becomes even more of a bit part player.

Realistically I don’t see us getting a better defender. Sure we all want another fofana but soyuncu isn’t exactly old, has mass premier league experience, has shown when confident he can be one of the leagues best centre backs, is strong as a bull and very very quick. I do wonder why however he hasn’t signed a new contract or if we’ve not even offered him one considering his low wages. Should be on at least £80k. Soyuncu, fofana and Evans are some of the best options we could ever realistically have, Amartey and Vestergaard question need to be sold but replaced by younger, patient players who’ll learn from these three.

I don't think Rodgers can forgive him for some of those pathetic challenges he pulled out of, he's done

Clearly also at the end of the season he kept him on the bench for some sort of reason, felt like he could go but after this interview who bloody knows anymore
