I was talking about him signing for Spurs this summer not what his options are in a season. Nobody looks interested at the moment out the big clubs. They may not be falling over each other if he was on a free next season if he’s expecting 200k and they already have players in his position.
He’s perhaps not rated as highly as we and he think he should be.

I still don't get why anyone would think he would sign an extension though. What does that gain him? Nothing. If anything he loses what leverage he has.

It’s all very good demanding top dollar when you are shaking up the top 6 and gunning for a champions league spot as opposed to being  strapped for cash, relegated , and needing to offload…

Although technically he has played 'out wide' for us he still generally drifts back to the centre, where he does his best work. He's not a wide player. Never in a million years.

Equally he is not a player that lacks versatility....

Imagine if Madders went to Spurs and the only thing he ever won was an FA Cup with Leicester. The irony would be immense. Likely too is he chose Spuds.

He would do a good job for any of the properly big clubs, but they might want him for free next year.

True. But obviously Ten Haag sees something in Mount that he thinks Maddison doesn't offer. And I think Ten Haag generally knows his onions (if we exclude Wieghorst lol).

That's what we said about Youri this time last year. And he ended up at bloody Villa!

The lack of real interest in Maddison from the truly big clubs is a reality check for both the player and us as fans. These clubs are clearly uncertain about him which has meant that Arsenal and Man U have preferred Havertz and Mount respectively, whilst Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea seem entirely disinterested. At this stage it looks like the best Madders can hope for is Spurs or possibly Newcastle.

If Tonali actually signs for Newcastle I'll be deeply upset. Milan, a brilliant and storied club, destroyed by debt laden American owners and picked clean by Saudi vultures. Fwiw, €70 m is a very fair price for him.

Lowest offer I would accept is £45m, if that’s offered plus maybe £5m in realistic add ons then we shouldn’t be messing around.

The realistic add ons can’t be performance related , these clowns will never win anything with or without JM

They mention more about that other player spurs are signing and newcastle signing tonali than anything related to Maddison.

Sports journalism continues to plummet to new lows

They're going to try and throw at least one player in with a bid aren't they. Levy special

Do they have any athletic CB’s on their books who are relatively young and not on mega bucks?

The thought of playing a back 3 with Faes, Souttar and one other screams we NEED pace at the back.

Not sure what their plan is with Tanganga, he's the only one I can think of.

Harry Winks, linked with him already. Spurs dont want him and can see them trying to push him to us and knowing Levy he probably rates Winks as a 40m player.

spurs are tighter than Arkwright from open all hours

no way they'll come close to what we want, if they was to throw some decent youngsters in the mix that could change things i guess

If this Club accepts Harry W*nks as part of any deal to avoid paying Norwich, then we are for sure heading in the wrong direction and Duffkin needs to be dismissed immediately.
