Big Sam's left Leeds apparently!

Came up on one site, but checked bbc and everywhere else still there.

Why would he have done so?

I know they're very much near-relegated, but would've thought he'd stay on in case he somehow does a miracle in keeping them safe plus a big pay cheque for it.

They were ordinary. His league finishes with Brighton suggest that.

New manger took them to a new level in no time.

If Brighton were 'ordinary' under Potter, what were they under Hughton? Potter was the one who transformed Brighton from a typical dull and nothing Chris Hughton side.

I don't think it's fair that Potter's great work at Brighton doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his time at Chelsea. By the way, have you actually seen that Chelsea squad? It's terrible, considering the amount they've spent their squad isn't close to being top 4 standard, they're not underachieving they're exactly where that team should be.

This 'New level' that De Zerbi has supposedly taken them to is two places below where Potter left them. You're seriously dismissing what happened here with Rodgers, where he came in off the back of some excellent recruitment by Puel, with players who had not fully settled into the team yet, and that summer they were bedded in more and we were able to get into Europe, twice.

Unlike our 5th place finishes, Brighton are not overachieving. Their ability to control game is way ahead of what we had, and frankly we got 5th twice because of individual brilliance at key moments. We were never as strong as this Brighton side, who, if they had more goals, would be a Top 4 side imo. If Wilson and Isak were at Brighton for example, I think they'd be challenging Arsenal for second.

Rodgers will walk into the Spurs job

He'll move there, lose Kane, but still have a decent start with them. Then he'll get his claws in to the club, buy average players after the likes of Son, Hojberg, Perisic, Kulusevski, Bentancur all depart, and regress them from where they are now.

Sound familiar ?

I don't even think he'll get them winning a trophy to be honest.

Articles are sometimes written in expectation so that a site can appear to have all the story and get lots of hits

assume this is what happened here and the wrong file was uploaded

I think he’ll do a great job for them and levy will have the money and bottle to fire him when he gets too comfortable

Every manager has a reasonably short shelf life not sure why the Rodgers name keeps getting pedalled out as the only manager  good for 2 seasons, 13 premiership managers were sacked this season alone the highest on record & most with shorter tenures at their clubs than him and it will only get worse due to the money involved.

He walked into a club all set up by Potter. It's not like he's taken Brighton from a relegation battle into Europe.

Rodgers will do well at Spurs.

(For a bit)

He may win them a cup! I'd imagine a lot of Spuds fans will enjoy his possession based football. Kane will get frustrated on his own upfront and it may hasten his departure.

Type of managers Tottenham should be looking realistically considering, rather than top coaches in Europe

Brendan Rodgers

Graham Potter

Rafa Benitez

Thomas Frank

Marco Silva

Vincent Kompany

Marcelo Bielsa (ignore he's just gone to uruguay)

These are the manager's there most likely able to attract

Where do Chelsea come in to this? lol

"If Potter had stayed the whole season I doubt they'd be much worse off". The point is Potter has only really been moderately successful at Brighton. When Potter went to Chelsea he was pretty ordinary. De Zerbi has had some success in Italy, Ukraine and now more success than Potter at Brighton. Brighton have over achieved thanks to De Zerbi and Chelsea have under achieved largely down to Potter. Any manager worth his paycheck should be able to keep chelsea in the top 8, even while they are implementing there own football philosophy or whatever excuse is used for failures.

We need to be wary of this. Yes, Leeds's chances are very slim but Everton and Foxes musn't let them in the back door...
