If not, what actual authority does the club or manager have to fine someone hundreds or thousands of pounds for all of this? If I turned around and said no, would the club have a leg to stand on? It might make me a dressing room pariah but is it even enforceable?

Probably get dropped if you didn’t pay fines.

One of two Premier League managers that have actively bollocked their squad in the media already in pre season and the other one is odds on favourite to win the sack race. Not a good look.
Stadt Posted 27 July 2022 Posted 27 July 2022 Chelsea's squad just doesn't have enough goals in it, they sack Tuchel and appoint say, Luis Enrique he's not going to turn Werner or Havertz into goal machines.

They are like a twilight zone, nightmare version of us. Gray is their first choice winger. Then they have all the classic people we’ve been linked with and hope and pray we don’t sign. Tarkowski, Townsend, keane, sigurdson, Alli (probably winks and mcneil),I think we were even linked with mina at one point. Edited 27 July 2022 by Lambert09

Mad that I knew it was you that posted this without reading the username haha Its just an unwritten rule in football that exists at almost all levels and has been around for decades. If you didnt pay them then you're probably not the right personality for football

Wymsey Posted 27 July 2022 Posted 27 July 2022 What's the point in Everton Football Club? Spent hundreds of millions for bog standard players over 3 or so years and yet have declined quite rapidly as a result. Would hate to be a blue in their city.

We’re a close second to handing shit players a decent pay day
StanSP Posted 28 July 2022 Posted 28 July 2022 When is the PL media day? I thought Rodgers, Barnes and Schmeichel were all meant to be doing interviews for it? Is it today?

Fear Of The Fox Posted 28 July 2022 Posted 28 July 2022 Olympiakos' humiliation yesterday in their CL clash is a big blow for Forest also. As I've predicted earlier this summer, Marinakis is already in trouble having to deal with the rage of Olympiakos fans. A possible bad start from Forest in the PL will make things even worse and he's a chairman who doesn't have any patience and he likes to get involved with team decisions alongside the manager. Not only this but his financial plan is derailed as he was heavily counting on the big money from CL for Olympiakos. It's not the same situation we have with OH Leuven.

Pre-season is going badly, there's no camaraderie and we're in for a tough season and we may be in the Championship next season... Can't imagine you'll take too kindly to those kind of quotes either so they can't win... 7
Popular Post Pliskin Posted 28 July 2022 Popular Post Posted 28 July 2022 (edited) I think this pre-season just simply highlights how a lot of pundits, sports journalists and so called professionals are either clueless or wind up merchants. To call Forest “ambitious” for spending more money than they probably have, and suggest we should be concerned because we haven’t been willing to step outside of our business model and compromise the integrity of the club….. How many clubs besides the leagues best have made wholesale summer signings and it turn out to be a good move? How many times have Everton been tipped for Europe only to finish 16th? You sign players to develop, we still have a young squad that has experienced a lot in a short space of time. Ideally we would like a CB and a RW, but it’s not do or die if we don’t…. We will sort the contract situation out once the season starts. This is a ****ing fantastic club. Run probably better than any other in the league. Considering what we’ve achieved in our short period back in the league, you’d think there would be more pride and positivity about the place. And a bit more respect paid to us from the extended football world. Edited 28 July 2022 by Pliskin 22
