Everton have something to play for so it gives atleast some meaning for what is an end of season friendly for us. I'm not sure that will mask the overriding sense of a failed season and wasted opportunities though. I expect a very flat, deflated atmosphere today. I think I'll find it more annoying if we actually turn up and play well after midweek!

I can't believe this can be classed as a friendly. This is still a match with 3 points at stake with people paying to see a competitive game. The morale of the fans and club is worth playing at 100%

Handbrake off now Brendan. Nothing to play for bar several extra million but more importantly is proving to the fans there's enough attacking belief left in this regime. I want 10+ goals in this last 5 games and a minimum of 10 points.

End season on a positive and it should carry through to next

Literally no harm in playing Alves, Braybrooke ect today.

I'm sure Leeds and Burnley would be very pleased with us playing youth squad players against Everton.  Good for the integrity of the game.

There is no reason why we shouldn't come out today and go after this.

There is (almost) nothing left to lose. Everton will probably be as up for this as anything, but they need to win and that plays in to our hands.

We really shouldn't have to suffer watching the same shite. I want see us try and win the game aggressively. I'm not holding my breath though.

They played 90 mins for the U18's yesterday away at Fulham.

Wanya Marca though deserves a chance.

Although you have a point, that's not our concern. If we are serious about blooding our talented academy players they have to be risked at some point.

With all the backward play, you may regret not stating you don’t want own goals.

Despite being season ticket holders my boys and I are not coming up from London for this. I would probably have done so but the boys are just so fed up with the dull football at the minute.

Everton hammer us and Rodgers to be sacked would be a good result

Bad stage of supporting a club when you're actively willing us spite the club and lose to get rid of the manager.

Never understood that perspective.

Braybrooke should play some part. I’d like to see McAteer at some point too.

I want to see effort out there. That’s why the Roma defeat was hard to watch. Our season was riding on the result and yet it was like we couldn’t be bothered.
