Sure he’d like to play for them some day, again like his dad did, but probably not quite now.

Kasper is decent with his feet compared to a lot of keepers, does that mean he doesn't make mistakes, of course not. Agreed that Pope is likely to be too expensive hence why I said Pope for me just don’t expect to get him cheap. I can’t say that I’m on top of my game when comes to tall, commanding GK’s but another reason I actually like Potter is at Brighton he upgraded from a popular Mat Ryan to Sanchez as he didn’t like Ryan’s commanding of the box etc. 1

Banks and Shilton were pretty good, Banks won the World Cup as a Leicester player. 4
st albans fox Posted 13 May 2022 Posted 13 May 2022 More chat about kasper and newcastle They’ve already said that they need to get creative to get better players without spending a fortune to avoid FFP issues They would see KS as a significant step up on what they have for a small investment to cover the next couple years …

Apparently someone was wearimg a Banks/Banhksie t-shirt in Rome and was asked why he was wearing it. 3

Alex_LCFC Posted 13 May 2022 Posted 13 May 2022 Club legend for most of us here. Won more than he or we could possibly of imagined when He signed for us. FA Cup winner, premier league winner, champions league quarter final, europa conference semi final, great escape, championship winner, community shield winner. Enjoyed all the good recent times we all have and had been a professional, a leader and a role model to all kids and fans. Unfortunately been here threw our worst times, the crash, play off semi final vs Watford, the semi final defeat ect. the love and emotion he must have for this club will be the same as ours as he he’s been a part and threw it all with us. but if he was to go I wouldn’t blame him, his last chance at European football again, his last chance of a big pay day at another team, a chance to say goodbye to a club he’s been at for over 11 years. In my eyes legend 3 1

Thought they’d fell well behind Copenhagen.

I can’t see him staying in the EPL if he leaves as I can’t see any of the ‘Big 6’ wanting him.
turlo Posted 14 May 2022 Posted 14 May 2022 Can't see Kasper going anywhere until his contract is up. The club won't want to lose his experience/leadership during this "rebuild" season and can't see him taking a massive paycut to play in a weaker leagues in Portugal, Holland etc where the highest earners are on 50-60k a week max. The Newcastle move would be purely for money in a team that i think will struggle to make the top 8 next season.
ALC Fox Posted 14 May 2022 Posted 14 May 2022 He doesn't need the money and he's desperate for more European nights, especially the Champions League. I think if the right move becomes available he'll jump at the chance. He doesn't owe us anything and he's cemented legend status here. I'd like him to stay, especially because his experience will be needed during The Rebuild™, but we have a good crop of young keepers and he'll need replacing sooner rather than later anyway. If we can secure, say, Iversen as #1 for the next ten years instead of having to let him go with a buy-back clause or shell out for someone else, it may work out for us if Kasper does sadly move on this summer.

Learn the history of your club seems natural to me. 7

It takes a bit of time and interest to learn the back story. I was daft enough to tune into that MOTD X thingy. J J and guests did not have a clue when FA Cup started! 1
The_77 Posted 14 May 2022 Posted 14 May 2022 Interesting that this story popped up as word comes out that we’re negotiating a new contract with Vardy.
Corky Posted 14 May 2022 Posted 14 May 2022 I doubt we'd sell our captain to another team in the league. He'll be here until next summer then head abroad if he's not offered anything to stay or wants to go. 3

He must already be one of the highest paid keepers in the prem. Giving an extension beyond next season when he will already be 36 doesn't really make much sense. 130k per week he's supposed to be on, so that's huge for a keeper especially after a season like this where we have been useless at set pieces. I realize the Center backs have played a huge part in that but he has to have some of the responsibility.

I think the club and Kasper already know he's off next summer. He's been open about wanting to play in another country, if he going to do it, he has to do it soon.

Does the Vardy contract have any traction or just rumour? I haven't heard about it but If so imo it's because the strikers we are bringing in aren't good enough and nacho has never quite got there, hence BR needs time to calibrate what direction we are going in I.e. false 9 in the future or 1/2 up top.
Deeg67 Posted 15 May 2022 Posted 15 May 2022 The problem for Kasper is his already narrow window for CL football is rapidly closing. There are very few CL sides who'd employ him as a 1st-team keeper now - with every year older and slower he gets that number decreases. If he wants a move he's going to need to make it very soon.
ronnup Posted 15 May 2022 Posted 15 May 2022 Hrs a club legend but its rebuild time. He's a gauge part of our set piece issue, I'd be tempted to try Iverson 1
turlo Posted 15 May 2022 Posted 15 May 2022 More likely who Newcastle would go far as he wants out of Man Utd for first team football and they could match his 150k wages
