Leeds managed to get 18 million for Llorente and bought Diogo Moneteiro (18 year-old Portuguese CB with excellent on-ball skills) for next to nothing.  Tidy bit of business that reduces any pressure to sell Harrison.

It amazes me how they've got their money back on Llorente pretty much, he's 29 as well and not done particularly well. I can only assume they've not given him £75-80k a week which makes him more attractive a signing than what would happen with us where we'd have to supplement the drop in wages.

reported to be just over £20mil

He’s a very promising player. Left footed too I believe.

It’s exciting that we made some signings but teams around us strengthened too. Do we have enough to get out of trouble? I hope so but it’s so competitive this year. Chelsea are being outrageous but spending near the bottom of the table is equally mental; Forest, Leeds, Bournemouth and Wolves. West Ham in the summer? How do we compete? Do we even want to?! Every club is turning into mercenary FC.

Too little acknowledgement of this imho, our signings do not happen in a vacuum and work by others will inevitably effect the outcome of games too

It will be interesting to measure our transfer window at the end of the day against Wolves, Southampton, Leeds, Bournemouth, Forest etc.

There's been some decent business done by them so far, especially Bournemouth, who if they replace O'Neil soon won't be a sure thing for one of the three relegation spots.

Bristol City supposedly signing Anis Mehmeti from Wycombe, looks a player!

Yeah, I've been raving about him for a while. Proper maverick who will join a PL side inside 2 years for a big fee.

Million quid, to Bristol City (allegedly)

Arsenal fans on Twitter questioning the clubs ambition and calling for Edu to be sacked - all over the Jorginho transfer.

Its not that bad is it.

Doesn't seem to go along with what Arteta was building, given he'd removed most of the bad eggs from a few years ago. Seems the type of signing that could derail things.

casual 200m deadline day to add onto the 300m already spent this window

God,  I can't tell you how much I hope Chelsea fail. Their spending is obscene.

The spending of the PL in comparison to the other leagues is staggering, I know its been bigger for a few years now but this window even more so with most of Europe seemingly tightening the purse strings during the cost of living crisis etc.

Does make you wonder how sustainable this is for some of the teams in our league. I know our TV deals make a lot of money for clubs but something just doesn't seem right with some of the spending we're seeing. Can't get my head around Chelsea either.
