Maybe he’ll be here longer than Amartey, Albrighton and Ndidi. Faithful servant

Heard he has taken root at the training ground, hoping for apples come next spring.

Not sure it is, WC is a good shop window, a decent showing could have helped us move him on.

We looked likely to make a massive loss on Musa a few years back until he had a good WC.

Oh I totally agree with that. I'm just being petulant because we had the opportunity to move him on in the summer and he turned it down. lol

I still can't wrap my head around his thought process to turn down that move... Surely not just about the money .

Missed out on the Denmark squad for the World Cup, presumably because he has played zero football. So looks like his decision to refuse a couple of moves in the Summer has backfired on him (If you can count doing absolutely naff all for huge sum of money backfiring).

Denmark have only announced 21 of the 26 players in their squad, so Vestergaard still has an outside shot of going to Qatar.

He surely dodged a bullet as Denmark were absolutely awful at the WC... so probably didn´t do him any harm

If you're a married man with kids of a certain age, why would you want to move to London, uproot the kids yet again and for less money? He's towards the end of his career in reality, we all have to do what's best for ourselves and our families, it's just a job, he's not a supporter!

Been offered to Villa according to today's BBC Gossip Column. I know it's not the most reliable but seems an odd link. Why would Villa want a CB that can't get in our squad let alone first eleven, and who is offering him to them - club/agent?!?

They envision a world class shipping docks, with the oil tankers that are Mings and Vestergaard sitting in.

He would have moved here with certain expectations and a very decent wage packet and moved his family here also most likely.

It became clear very quickly that Rodgers way of playing him was never going to work, surely the way he plays over many years for clubs and country is well known and entirely exposed.

Why on earth at his age would he want to uproot his family again, move or have a long commute to an expensive city to earn less money?

If I were him, I too would effectively tell Leicester to piss off too! From an entirely personal perspective I think I would do exactly the same thing. Why should he show Leicester any loyalty at all, why would he want to earn less money for what is to him now, just a job, he's hardly a keen young up and coming player with a long career ahead.

I get completely what you mean but because he didn't move clubs he missed out going to the world Cup with his country.

In terms of age he's still a moderately young person.

Obviously I don't know what happened behined the scenes but if it was staying put to not uproot my family or moving and playing for my country at a world Cup. I know what I would rather do personally

He's already been to a World Cup, Euro's and every other competition,  been there, done it. I think we sometimes look at things through a supporters eye, particularly because they are incredible things to us.

The cold facts remain however, why forgo a good chunk of finances and what's best for your family to effectively just to be away from home for a couple of weeks, doing more of the same, knowing that you're chances of glory are next to nothing anyway. He's seen it all before, nothing much left to achieve. Some things are more important than football.

You talk about securing his family finances hence why if in his shoes you would also stay put, but, yes he can sit on i don't know lets just say 70k till the end of his contract which is June 24 which will put him 1mth off being 32yrs old.
Now what sort of contract will he get as a 32yr old who for the past 3yrs (at that point) not played any meaningful 1st team football & then at what level?
v
Securing a premier lge transfer now at 30 on a 3-4yr contract even at 60k will work out financially better than trying to hang onto an extra 10kpw for the next 18mths wouldn't it?

He would also get some sort of pay off &/or signing on fee so moving makes more financial sense both for his family & for doing what he wants to do, play football, no?

He’s going to break a league record isn’t he? He’ll be here for 15 years and play less than 30 games :(

You're presuming he wants to carry on playing football all that time. He can invest what he's getting now in a low market and reap the benefits later. Possibly, he can't be bothered with all that. It's a personal family decision. Stop looking at it as a football fan or wannabe. It's just a job to many at his age. He must have earned a fortune compared to me and you and might just want to enjoy it with his family.

How many of our current team really care about Leicester City compared to how many, quite understandably, care about their careers and private family life? I'll give you a clue, not many if any and why should they?

If we can shift him out and pay off Bertrand early, that would be a Carlsberg Winter window.

Or they have got him in a field behind a wooden gate.

We have to accept that we’re stuck with the useless bastard until his contract runs out.

I was trying to work out in my mind how many players that statement could apply to.

Would he not have made up the money from playing for Denmark , just shows that a lot of players are not in it for the football . Take drinkwater , he was on the verge of playing for England with us , to been a bench warmer for the scrum bags Chelsea, I am sure there are plenty more

Also sack the complete twonks who are responsible for signing these two wasters
