Why so?

£60k p/w over a 3 year contract is £9m.  Fees of that size are not unheard of in The Championship, so if we let him go on a free...

No Championship club, even the recently relegated ones will offer a player that salary with no guarantee of going up at the end of the season where those wages are more realistic. Most have relegation wage decreases and barely any player will be being paid £60k a week and certainly not of Hamza's standard.

Hope this happens, but let's be honest neither will pay him £60k a week in the Championship so if they even cover half it's not going to make that much of a dent in our wage bill, but every little helps.

Time to get creative with it

Cover 50% of his wages and £1.5m loan fee

a bargain when you consider bertrand is on 80k

And I know it was 20 years ago, but an absolute travesty that Muzzy never topped 40

it’s not. I have a Watford supporting friend who’s fairly well connected and he’s telling me the same info. It’s between Watford and West Brom for his signature.

I meant the bits highlighted in bold, sorry for not being clear 😂

If he had a brain, first time left footed pass into all that space Thomas has

....just from that still, just outside your own box and being closed down, you are not going to take the risk of making a pass with your wrong foot, which if mistimed could be intercepted by #26 or play the CB into a position which puts him under pressure!!!

The teammate in the right side CB position is the pass, where the Keeper is an out ball for him. Anything else, especially with his wrong foot, would put us in severe trouble.

Option to buy too. Great news

How so? He’s out of contract at the end of the season. That can only happen if we’ve extended his deal, which is unlikely.

Highly-rated midfielder Hamza Choudhury has signed for Watford FC on a season-long loan with an option to buy, the club confirms.

That's a decent loan for Hamza, he needs to be playing regularly and we need space in the squad, shame though to see a local lad leave the club.
