I wonder if Schmeichel even considering a move could be grounds to refresh the captaincy.

He'll clearly be off next year if not this so perhaps as good a time as any.

...it would be perceived as an insult to remove the captaincy while he is still here, he has served this club too well!!!

As I  have said before, Maddison will be the one taking over, he acts as if he is already.

I think Maddison would shine as captain. He has the confidence and the ability. I think we'd see an even better version of him and he's already arguably our best player.

Going to a casino after being relieved from England duty, wearing a shiny backpack, having a collaboration with a clothing company and driving a fast car are hardly plumbing the depths of depravity.

He's also a family man and had a well publicised friendship with a terminally ill child, and came to Leicester to be closer to his family instead of moving down to Southampton.

I think Madders would be an excellent, inspirational captain who would lead by example as the most creative player on the pitch.

What’s Maddison done to make you not think he’s captain material?

Maddison is too gimmicky to be captain. Wearing a Derby shirt, the silly bag, here’s my Lamborghini etc.

A captain should be straight laced most of the time imo.

And how does this apply to the player who gets the most assists in our team?

Sorry I added to my reply after you responded.  Imo the captains role is one of leading and standing up for the team...( the moral.imperative of leadership).  I like madders, I just do not think other players will see him as someone to fight their battles.

Will be interesting to see who gets the armband after subbing Vardy on sunday, few names in the hat but I'd like Maddison to be heavily in contention - the lad has matured massively over the last few years and really kicked on and is probably our best attacking player at the moment

it will be Evans and Vardy as vice-Captain, they are the next 2 in the pecking order, who becomes the 3rd captain could be interesting, Maddison with a new contract would be nice

It's a pointless discussion as Kasper isn't going anywhere.

Either way, Evans is the vice-captain, so it would be him, with Vardy taking Evans' then vacated role.

Will be Evans. I would say KDH. Midfielder so sees and effects the play.  His attitude and approach is what I want in a captain.

The team talks would be hilarious

I'm really perplexed as to why not more people are saying Vardy? I'm not sure how many games Evans will be able to play, and Vardy is our next longest serving player if I'm not mistaken? Also Vardy likely to play more games than Evans?
