When people say “we’ll be absolutely fine”. What does that mean in practice? Genuine question.

In the context of this thread, where OP mentions being concerned about us being in danger of relegation, I have to assume it means they think there is no such danger

Relegation is always a possibility for 10 to 12 teams  in my opinion. A run of injuries in key positions, some poor calls from refs or just some bad luck. I don't feel that Leicester are relegation contenders but you can never count it out.

Some of the attacking play has been really positive this pre-season and if we can keep Ndidi, Little Wes and Evans fit for the majority of the season we can make top 8.

With Palace, Villa and Newcastle all investing it will be a more competitive season no doubt so we can’t afford to gift goals / results like last year. We need to have sorted out our set piece problem.

If we can add a RW and LCB I would be more confident of pushing for Europe. All to play for tho.

For me and with the squad we have currently, fine is that we're competing in the group of clubs challenging for 5th.

That we don’t get drawn into a relegation scrap, I presume

We’ll finish anywhere from 7-11 unless we make big RW and CB signings. My issue is that if we are not more active this window, we’re going into next window losing many key players and not getting any funds in for them. We’ll have a forced rebuild. Hope the owners are willing to invest or we could be in lower mid table positions or worse for a while.

After watching us today albeit against Championship opposition in PNE we looked a completely different team compared to last pre season where our football looked slow and pedestrian. Today we played some great stuff and mixed up our possession style with some very quick incisive play where we literally went back to front in 3 passes. I honestly think we will finish anywhere between 6-9th but the level of performance and quality of our football will be a million miles from last season.

We ranked 5th in goals scored last season. If we can sure up defensively, which we should be able to to now with our injuries back to fitness we should be able to already be better than last season.  We scored more than arsenal & Man United and only scored 7 less than Tottenham.

Add in 6 points for the downright dreadful ignorance of the laws against Brighton and spurs and we finish 6th.

If we have sensible levels of injuries this year then we stand to do very well again.

A competant understudy for Evans should be our priority signing.

That was Danny Mills, the guy who in the run in to us winning the league, said it would be a poor advert for the premier league if the following seasons Charity Shield was between Leicester and Watford, who were in the semi Final of the FA Cup at the time.  The bloke is a clown, i don`t think ive ever heard him say a good thing about us.  His opinions are not worth listening too.

Was rubbish for England too

Just looked at the Newcastle forum because they are interested in Barnes, it looks like everyone else thinks we're f***ed and in a financial crisis.

Time for a siege mentality amongst the team, bond together and stick 🖕this at all the rest of teams and their fans who are currently thinking we in a crisis.

Despite the outside noise it seems calm and fairly upbeat inside the club at present. Players seem motivated, they are playing good football, the key players seem sharp and fringe players are contributing.

Of course the serious football hasn't started and the feeling could change but things appear to be ticking along nicely.

Spot on @Corky

It makes me smile that everyone is having a melt down, however all of our first team players are being linked to big money moves elsewhere.

We’ll be fine.

Have we ever had a close season when we have not made one signing?

I think if players who have been here a year or more have a role and or really kick on this coming season it will be like having new signings.

I agree I think we’re going to be fine. A few under 23’s look promising as well.

I just can’t remember a time when we didn’t bring anyone in.

Sometimes I think the need to sign loads of players is a driven from supporter and media hype. Although don’t get me wrong 1 or 2 in would have been nice, but not the end of the world.

How a few weeks have changed peoples mindsets. I think near the end of last season nearly all of us felt that additions to the squad were absolutely essential.

Now we’ve made none, ‘it’s not the end of the world’.

It’ll be interesting for sure. I think other clubs around us have genuinely bought in better players this summer.

Time will tell. At least the squad seem content. There’s no clear disrupters of the peace

The crunch will come with who gets left out of the squad. That has the potential to be very divisive.

And of course if/when Fofana and Evans get injured - because as we all know BR practically gives up on defending if they’re not there.
