You can see why West Ham like Dawson , they laugh at him on here for his lack of fancy skills but he almost never gets beaten in the air.

Strengths

  • Progressive ball-carrying
  • Composure in possession
  • Marking attackers
  • Recovery speed

Weaknesses

  • Ability in aerial duels
  • Overly aggressive at times

There is NO such thing as overly aggressive on the football pitch, unless you’re Roy Keane, Souness etc. But I like that. We need more grit and needle.

Obviously it would be nice to sign a centre back who's really good in the air but I think our set piece defending is definitely much more a tactical and mental problem than a physical one, so I wouldn't necessarily be put off solely by him not being the greatest in that area.

How do you only win 45.9% of headers as a CB?!

Probably an inevitable result of CBs being trained to be able to pass instead of being traditional defenders

He’s 6’3 and in the bottom 3% for aerial duel success rate, almost impressively bad.

By improving your stats by taking account of a friendly game of head tennis during the warm up ?

makes sense. They’ve got players who can clean up after he misses a header

Scenes when we sign a player that wins less than 50% of their headers to strengthen a team that struggles winning headers.

Its got Leicester written all over it.

Yeth.

22 year-old, Belgian centre-back who can play left back, sometimes. Sounds about right. 🤷

And right wing?

Very good on the ball, but his ability to win headers is very poor, for comparison:

Evans - 74.6%

Fofana - 65.7%

Soyuncu - 65.1%

Vestergaard 59.3%

Amartey 54.2%

Theate - 45.9%

Crap at headers and won’t be good at set pieces? Sounds like he’ll fit right in! LOL
