Bryn Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 Works if we're going to entirely change how we play, which tbh we probably should. Low block. Tbf Vestergaard probably plays better in that setup as well.
Will1981 Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 would be a great signing, proven premier league quality who was a regular starter for the team that finished above us last season. PS I watched the Jarrod Bowen episode of the Ben Foster podcast and Bowen said that Dawson enjoys hurting people in tackles which is something our squad really misses.
Scotch Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 As a Vestergaard/Amartey replacement? Yes. As a Fofana replacement? Absolutely fvcking not. 4

kingfox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 West Ham fans wanted him nominated for the Ballon d’Or, Watford fans couldn’t wait to get rid of him. The suspense of not knowing what version we would get would be too much to handle. 2
mozartfox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 This is not Re-Fresh, this would be an act of Regress.

st albans fox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 We surely play too high a line for him to be happy here almost the same issue as vestergaard (but Dawson can at least defend) if West Ham have decided they don’t need him (when they’re short on CB’s) then how come we think he’s the answer ?? 1

EnderbyFox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 Says a lot about how our transfer window has gone that I'm actually excited to be linked with Craig bloody Dawson
Fox92 Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 Evans and Dawson. Seen that before Joking aside I do think he's solid enough short term. Better than Amartey anyway.
desertfox2 Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 This has a kind of Evans/Huth feeling to it. Definitely worth getting him in as long as it's 2 CB's we are after and he's the 2nd. 3
Nalis Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 I'd be good with this if we were getting another defender in though probably unlikely
North Leeds Fox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 If we started to play with a low block, this would actually work. Go back to being a counter attacking team.
Tuna Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 It's reward for him equalizing at Spurs in 2015-16 during the title run in. 1

Our next manager might not play a high line like Rodgers. West Ham don’t want to get rid, Dawson is leaving because he wants to move back North apparently. He was one of West Ham’s best players last season so hopefully he still has a couple years left in him
AKCJ Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 **** me this is depressing. He's barely an upgrade (if at all) and we'll sign him up for about 3/4 years on 80k a week and this time next summer we'll be wondering why the **** we can't shift him. **** all ambition or imagination. 1
Sunbury Fox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 This link suggests that we must be ditching the high line. If so maybe there is hope for Vesty yet?!
RowlattsFox Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 I do think there is an argument for an experienced, reliable option to get us through this season, alongside signing an up and coming potential star and I think Dawson could be trusted to do a job, give his all etc but we so little defensive structure that we will expose him, especially if he was partnered with Evans. And we'd end up giving him a juicy 5 year deal or something stupid. 1

Fox 4 Life Posted 30 August 2022 Posted 30 August 2022 (edited) Our current option is Amartey or an out of favour/checked out Soyuncu, give me Dawson any day of the ****ing week Edited 30 August 2022 by Fox 4 Life
