Works if we're going to entirely change how we play, which tbh we probably should. Low block. Tbf Vestergaard probably plays better in that setup as well.

would be a great signing, proven premier league quality who was a regular starter for the team that finished above us last season.

PS I watched the Jarrod Bowen episode of the Ben Foster podcast and Bowen said that Dawson enjoys hurting people in tackles which is something our squad really misses.

I think he a decent player, but not sure he works in a side that like to play a high line.

He might when a new manage comes in that doesn’t and plays to your strengths

West Ham fans wanted him nominated for the Ballon d’Or, Watford fans couldn’t wait to get rid of him.

The suspense of not knowing what version we would get would be too much to handle.

As a Vestergaard/Amartey replacement? Yes.

As a Fofana replacement? Absolutely fvcking not.

We surely play too high a line for him to be happy here

almost the same issue as vestergaard (but Dawson can at least defend)

if West Ham have decided they don’t need him (when they’re short on CB’s) then how come we think he’s the answer ??

Evans and Dawson.

Seen that before lol

Joking aside I do think he's solid enough short term. Better than Amartey anyway.

It's reward for him equalizing at Spurs in 2015-16 during the title run in.

Our next manager might not play a high line like Rodgers.

West Ham don’t want to get rid, Dawson is leaving because he wants to move back North apparently.

He was one of West Ham’s best players last season so hopefully he still has a couple years left in him :fc:

**** me this is depressing.

He's barely an upgrade (if at all) and we'll sign him up for about 3/4 years on 80k a week and this time next summer we'll be wondering why the **** we can't shift him.

**** all ambition or imagination.

I do think there is an argument for an experienced, reliable :fc: option to get us through this season, alongside signing an up and coming potential star and I think Dawson could be trusted to do a job, give his all etc but we so little defensive structure that we will expose him, especially if he was partnered with Evans.

And we'd end up giving him a juicy 5 year deal or something stupid.
