Superb save from Kasper, we should have hung onto him.

Nah, we’ve got Wales’ reserve keeper Danny Ward.

Some CL club is actually gonna hire Dechamps after he's done with France. Don't care whats he's won, the guy is a bigger terrorist than Southgate.

I agree with you, it feels like France won the World Cup in spite of Deschamps and not because of him. Their roster is so stacked, in almost every single position. This team in terms on individual talent is incredible and may well still win this World Cup, but I feel the 1998/2000 team (which ironically he was a part of!) played better stuff.

Perhaps though this time round given they are missing Benzema, Nkunku and Kante he can be forgiven a bit for their style of play. But they are still too safety first for my liking.

Completely true.

Once France gets into the knockout stages, he will bench Dembele and put in an extra CM. This guy and Southgate come from the same school of football.

Blimey, I just looked it up and Deschamps is only 54, but to me looks a bit like like Old Man Steptoe.

Must have had a hard paper round.

This is part of the issue with international football though isn't it really.

There's a reason Deschamps, Martinez, Southgate and Co are in charge of the major sides. No actually decent manager wants to manage a country.

France would be better off hiring an actual specialist like Herve tbh, or remember Hiddink? Guys who seem to actually thrive off national management.

Spain might be the only team at the tournament who have both a squad capable of winning it and a manager actually worthy of them. Certainly amongst the European sides.

Excellent goal.

Souness doesn't rate Giroud as well lol.

Mbappe constantly gets stick for poor finishing but he's almost always in the right places to shoot or create chances.

This is going to be ‘his’ tournament isn’t it, aka Ronaldo 2002.

I kind of thought 2018 was his tournament

Christensen should be put in a rocket and fired at the sun for that.

Almost nothing makes me angrier than watching big centre halves get out of the way of shots. Wtf is he doing. He turns side on and gets out the way.

Throw yourself in front of it you fvcking coward. Absolute disgrace.

Big Wes should charge by the million to give seminars on proper blocks to overpaid muppet centre halves. Was it John Terry that once had like an iconic head first dive across the six yard box to put his face in the way of a shot? That's how you do it.

I, for one, welcome another thing for McCoist to be relentlessly positive about.  He's such a ray of sunshine on a November's evening.
