Braybrooke should have started instead of Ndidi. Probably good Braybrooke came on as Newport putting pressure on Ndidi and Vesty would almost certainly have led to a couple of goals lol

 

Disappointing to only have 1 youthie get 20 mins. Least we didn't embarrass ourselves like Brentford though.

FT hyperbole. He was rusty (understandably) and didn’t have to do much but hardly shocking. Soumare wasn’t terrible either (and hasn’t been for much of this season), but in this game there was hardly any substantive difference between Soumare and Wilf (both statistically and in terms of game impact) - other than perhaps the flamboyance of Soumare’s averageness.

Game well managed throughout, with Newport not really offering much threat so we didn't really need to get out of second gear. Sammy did great on his debut, but gutted for JJ who scored a sublime goal. Hopefully nothing serious...again.

 

Was disappointed with Ndidi (poor when on the ball) and especially Perez who was pretty much ineffective against a League Two side until he was hauled off.

That's just his touch unfortunately. If Brendan has any sense at all, N'didi won't get back into the team.

Just should be able to play 2 games a week at this stage of his career. It’s also good to see us taking the cups seriously, they’re our only way into Europe this year.

If this were last season and we had a crippling injury list with lots of players 'in the red' i'd agree with you but Justin should be playing every game he possibly can as he's a player that needs to play himself back into form. In this instance its just bad luck rather than mismanagement.

 

To his credit it's good to see Rodgers taking these competitions seriously, even considering the league form.

Hope JJ is ok, was chatting to my brother, told him I saw him on the dodgy illegal stream when the camera zoomed in on Brendanlol he said he heard that the Doc sent JJ off to the hospital:dunno:

Yeah im surprised by that. Was sat in sk4 so could only really see the West Stand but around me was pretty sparse
