This should be easy. Senegal are bobbins, even more without Mane and Gueye, our 4th choice CM plays for them. 4-0 England.

It's that kind of attitude that could see us lose 1-0.

Think it's the best side we can field in all honesty. That three man midfield is genuinely as good as anything in the tournament, and I think it clicked for Southgate after the USA game that we needed to be more cautious in our midfield. and actually take hold of the midfield with three very capable players, but who all have a physical and defensive side that the likes of Mount/Maddison/Foden don't have as a 10/8. A bit akin to Liverpool really. They don't play with a 10, or a very attacking 8, but nobody would argue against them being a very attacking side.

People get excited at having many adventurous players on the pitch, but it very rarely works. I don't think many watched the U21 side play too often, which fielded the likes of Foden and Maddison as 8's and got grouped in the 2019 Euros because it was too attacking. France today played with 3 centre halves and two holding mids...Spain last won the World Cup playing 3 Centre halves and 2/3 holding mids.

henderson starts again yay

I don’t mind Henderson starting tbh.

He’s an experienced leader and we need that at this stage.

He adds that drive and leadership on the pitch. He’s an onfield, vocal General and we don’t have many of those. It’s overlooked and he’s a major boost having that.

Yes, the England team is just a promotional vehicle for the stars of the Premier League.
