It's not about the one player, this is the exact same as the summer window, a load of random links that turn in to nothing, BR

Exactly if people think this is about one player this window, then you’ve not been paying attention for the last couple of seasons. It should be obvious now that the club are teetering on the edge, years ago we’d blow teams out of the water.

Kinda can’t help this if the Bournemouth owner is now buying the club this lad plays for! It’s a shame cuz he looks look a decent player.

Am i the only one who isn't impressed with this fella, only watched him twice to be honest and also you tube highlight videos, but seems to have a heavy touch and clumber sum.

He's massively raw. It wouldn't be a guarantee he'd be an instant success here but what he's already good at we so badly need, pace and power from the right to make the opposition find it much harder to negate Barnes and Daka. He also has a knack for goals and assists despite a clumsy and sometimes careless 1st touch and execution of passing and crossing.

I'm torn, he's come up on my radar a fair bit and I've watch some Lorient games this season purely because of Enzo Le Fee and he's been unreal at times. We badly need a RW and at 20 and with his profile, he has a massive chance of being a success but also scoring and assisting in Ligue 1 and being direct doesn't always mean you'll do well in the PL - Pepe and Ismaila Sarr have hardly lit it up and we're obscene in France.

Bottom line is, we need a right winger and we need one yesterday.

Hear me out here.......... we could pick up Adama Traore for about 8million, who would tick all the boxes you've laid out above. What is your view on him @Ric Flair ?

Isn't that a bit shite for the player though? I'm sure he'll be well paid but what if he simply doesn't want to go to Bournemouth?

he'll just be thinking about the premier league, not Bournemouth

Even if that was the case, if his other suitors are as reported it's not like he'd have to hang his hat on Bournemouth? Doesn't seem to be the only train out of Lorient.

Could we not technically still buy him, albeit I'd imagine the fee is higher now so could force us elsewhere.

If ever an episode summed up our last 18 months it was this though. A target playing for random Ligue 1 club goes to pissing Bournemouth because their owner buys said club.

Hmmmmm I've not yet reached that level of desperation but he'd certainly cause some chaos and unpredictability which is something.

Show how smaller clubs in the league have owners with deeper pockets now. Bournemouth have a satellite club, and not only that, one that bigger than ours! It's ridiculous but shows the power of the Premier League. Like @StriderHiryusaid, the PL is now in many ways the Super league, and our owners have seemingly decided to slow down when the pace is faster than ever before.

Rodgers would have him concentrating on defensive duties within no time. Whether that would add to or resolve the chaos and unpredictability or not... hmmm.

He's actually got very strong defensive stats.

I genuinely think put him next to 3 competent finishers and he becomes a huge asset. You’ll get plenty of shanks from him but in terms of progressing the ball up the pitch and taking players away from your other attackers, there aren’t many better options.

Wolves were deadly with him back when jiminez was in his prime.

Let’s face it, we’ve all forgotten what a rw is, so if we’d had him for the last few years we’d certainly have been better off than some of the options we tried.

plus you only need to make him click for half a season and some stupid big 6 club will pay you way too much money for him.  If 8m is accurate, then he’d be a genuinely decent option to explore (but we won’t)

I don't understand why he'd go there. I'm sure we could match or better his salary and package and possess a far superior training ground and stadium expansion. I get the ownership side of things bit he knows he's his own boss.

Completely agree with all of this.
his contract is up in the Summer, so he can’t be that expensive! Think £8-10m would be about right.

potentially wouldn’t have to move house aswell.

Be a stop gap wont it. If they go down he goes back on Loan to Lorient for a bit next season and then makes his next move.

Chance to prive himself in the Prem first I guess.

I also believe that signing a winger with his characteristics will allow us to play Nacho in the 9 on his own. I think I remember when we played in the Europa last season and had Barnes and Lookman on the wings and he linked with them well.

Either way, for a team that was desperately in need of signing before January. You would of thought the business would of already been in the works in December, i.e Gakpo and Liverpool, Fofana and Chelsea

Business would have been in the works but we don't have their budgets so we have to negotiate deals harder.

But even with that mitigation, everything just feels so slow and complacent at the moment.
