Ward playing last season was the death of his career. Now everyone knows he's crap, and we are stuck with him until his contract is up, or we pay him off!
atomicfox Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Would rather we'd got a fee for him but it's best for all parties if he leaves. 1
Ric Flair Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Be interesting to see how he does here, is he just not suited to the PL or just not with the way we play. 2
Suzie the Fox Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 At least the 'players on Loan' thread is now getting more interesting. 1
Popular Post ClaphamFox Posted 1 September 2023 Popular Post Posted 1 September 2023 So long, Patson. Here’s looking at you, kid… 10
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Ok this is a year to early.........bring him home! 😂
J.Lisemore Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Wouldn't be surprised to see him click elsewhere considering his goal ratio at Salzburg. Another expensive underwhelming signing that we've finally cut ties with. Hope he finds some form down south and we can claw some of the transfer fee back
Pliskin Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 He will do well. He’s actually a quality finisher. He just played under a cretin who’s fumbled his way through a career and somehow won a few things…… 3
roblcfc84 Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 He’s honestly not technically good enough for the PL. Clearly has pace and can finish, but I’d be surprised if he smashes there. 2
urban.spaceman Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 I hope he does well there and can come back after a good season ready to flourish here. I genuinely believe there's a great player there and he could be massive for us. Rodgers has blood on his hands.

I used to agree, but I am just not sure how far you can get with such a poor first touch. Very likeable guy though, so really want him to do well! 1

If he does well for them, they'll activate the option. Then I suppose it's entirely on the player to decide, and you'd assume that means bye. If he's shite, we can welcome him back with open arms though!

So if Daka rips up the prem, we get promoted, Nacho leaves for free, we get to just say nah to their option and keep him? This a point I’ve made in previous threads, I just can’t see what’s in it for the selling club, player does well - price is locked in player does shit- buying club either backs out or renegotiates the fee.

At the least, we don't pay him for a year...
