Telegraph: "Four years on, the Brendan Rodgers formula is still Leicester City's best bet"

The formula doesn't seem to include using our best asset to its fullest, the academy. And it has included some of our best players running down their contracts. Along with playing previously injuried players when they should have been rested. And we're in a relegation scrap. But yeah. Otherwise.

Never going to happen unless Rodgers has a better offer and quits.

I think that will be the case tbh, whether it’s with Chelsea, Spurs or some other club on the European stage.

An interesting comment:

“The final months were still plagued by difficulties, with the relationship between Rodgers and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel – whose appointment as captain was not universally popular with the squad – becoming fractious”.

Made more sense then allowing the players to pick Albrighton as vice captain. Still dont understand how Vardy isnt the club captain after being here 11 years and all his achievements, very strange

I can easily understand how some of the squad wouldn't have been on board with Schmeichel being captain. Not everyone's cup of tea I wouldn't have thought.

"Rodgers has recovered" and "Leicester now appear a different proposition" strikes me as a little premature off the back of three games, one of which we lost 3-0. I hope Percy is right and we are actually in store for a rebuild this summer - in spite of there apparently still being concerns about our wage bill and the threat of FFP sanctions, unless we're expecting those to be solved by departures - else I suspect we'll be in for a repeat of this season, both in terms of results and the negative feeling around/emanating from the club.

If anyone can give me a good reason to expect that the negative season on season trends in respect of our performances, particularly defensively, won't continue then I'd like to hear it.

percy likes Rodgers eh

Maybe, but maybe also a case of Percy likes getting info from the club and is happy to do the occasional bit of brown-nosing to maintain that relationship

Interesting it is mentioned that Schmeichel being made Captain was not universally popular with the squad

From the outside you would think it made obvious sense for it to be him when Wes left

One of the things I found seriously surprising when Kasper left was the complete lack of good wishes from the team. I think Vardy was the only one to send a note on social media. Part of it might have been the manner in which he left, but I get the feeling he might not have been that appreciated by his teammates.

And Vardy is the ultimate windup merchant. Do you really want your captain being the guy who cling wraps the toilets?

I don't really understand why anyone would have a problem with Kasper being captain. Be interesting to know the whos and whys.

If Percy is so clever , what is he doing scribbling for that execrable rag? Rodgers is life expired. , it happens to all managers. We need new thinking and its not coming from him.

The young players didn't like him at all - Maddison and Chilwell weren't fans at all.

Because the bloke is a weapon and he'd go straight to top demanding new terms as soon as anyone else got a new deal. He wasn't a team player, it was the kasper show.

Stringer just labelled it as a ‘balanced article’ on Twitter. I agree with some of his arguments, but this is clearly not neutral. The brown-nosing is so evident.

I guess from a journalist point of view, he wants to maintain good relations so he can extract good information, but this is classic Rodgers propaganda.

A couple of good results (which he bases his argument around) and the wool is pulled back over the eyes of the footballing world. Football fans are fickle, but not this fickle, the jury is still out.

He could be quite a spikey character…. The only direct evidence I have of this was the COvID games where he mouthed off constantly…. That, I imagine, could get a little wearing
