Life outside of football? Interesting. Wonder what that means. Not that I am desperate to know, but I guess it's nice that players are supported in their personal lives too.

Suspect the coach told him he needed to ‘grow up’ if he wanted to take the next step

and now he has a little boy he dotes upon and a partner he seems to be v happy with

we also know that rodgers sat down with him and looked at his physical issues and how he might move forward regarding those problems

I think Brendan has been a big influence on madders over the past couple seasons and whatever the mess the club is in, madders looks to be in a wonderful place come June !

Its very very telling that its now Tuesday and theres only been one player to publicly mention anything. Just goes to show that the morale in the squad was at rock bottom.

....within the squad there are going to be supporters of Rodgers who will be unhappy to see him go, and players who could not wait to see the back of him!!!

Anyone coming out in support of Rodgers makes the rest seem like anti Rodgers people. To keep the peace in the dressing room it probably best if players are not posting publicly.

Just like the players, we do need the fanbase to come together as one.

They won’t so don’t be too worried - watch and see the difference tomorrow - hopefully Vardy, Kel and Maddison in the same team and JV more like JV - Kasper, Albrighton are missed and JV was the only one to survive Rodgers - expect Evans to start too!

Albrighton missed! Did you see his appearances this season especially the last one it was sad to see he was totally off the pace and done at this level and maybe even West Brom level judging by his performances there ! Should have left years ago !

...I  have said before that he needed a mentor!!!

Grealish benefitted having John Terry as a mentor,  Maddison having Rodgers as a mentor,  would have had a big impact on his life. He seemed from the start of the season that he wanted the captains armband, his interaction with players, attitude to the game and referees showed a lot of maturity.

Shame he has chosen Rodgers to be that guide.

Well it will be a shame to lose Madders, but it can be coded all he likes, we need players who want to be here, if he doesn't, then do one simple, even Madders must be professional enough to realise there was no option but for BR to go

Madison has improved under Rodgers, one of the few to do so. I am proper happy that Rodgers is gone but I understand that there's going to be some that are not so happy. And as his career is on the up and he's playing some blinding football I can guess that Madison is gutted to be losing the one he sees as the one to help him get there, go. I'm sure he will still play well and go on to great things but it will be difficult for him to start as he has always backed Rodgers and could see what he was trying to do.

Can't see any player coming out and saying "good riddance" (well maybe Soyuncu), and not should they, they may end up working with him again, why burn those bridges?

In ten years time when Rodgers is assistant manager at Wycombe Wanderers and Maddison gets a free transfer from Coventry perhaps they will meet again.

It doesn't bother me what Madders has posted, he's one of the few you can say has actually grown under him, and his comments and demeanour in recent times suggest he's also one of the few to buy into whatever crap Rodgers was selling on the training pitch. I guess it's easy when you're the team's talisman. I don't really blame him - it's more naive than anything.

I think people are just naturally going to single him out based on his previous social media comments about negativity, creating a hatful of chances and being unlucky - which is being posted ad nauseum in the replies. Confused me for a second, I was going to ask those fans what game they were watching on Saturday! lol

Time for him to step up - he's been a 6/10 at best in recent games, and without him at the heights he's capable of we're toothless at the moment. Or maybe we'll find ways to break down defences that don't rely on individual brilliance? That would be nice. :scarf:

Maddison did a similar post when Puel left too. He's very vocal and not exactly backward in coming forwards so I expected him to say something.

He'll be off in the summer regardless, hopefully he helps keep us up before he goes.

Think we need to name a new captain for the run in, Maddison is the one player who's likely to sulk over this and it's not like he's captaining us to wins anyway.

Didn't see it but my Baggies mate did and said he was very poor.

With each day we learn more but kinda making sense now. I’m sure we’ve all been in a situation at work when you know there are going to be redundancies or lay offs and how that feels whether it’s gonna be you or your fellow work mates. I’ve experienced it and also experience knowing my boss was gonna get the chop but no idea when so when it happens it’s still a school followed by a release of good memories (if) you had a good relationship and feeling of sadness or if you had a bad relationship you feel rejuvenated. The players probably had a strong feeling Rogers was a dead man walking and maybe Rogers himself gave them that vibe. I don’t know how else to explain that 1st half performance which was dire and they got bullied by palace feeling sorry for themselves. Half time Rogers probably told them whatever happens happens and just go out and play for him one last time hence we got a boost.

they were gutted when soutter lost his man and allowed that last minute goal. I would have felt the same.

BIG question is are their collective heads

ready to go out and fight today? They’ve not had much time to process. If the come back doesn’t happen today means they weren’t prepared but it will happen next game.

put yourself in their shoes could you perform 100% given the situation?

This is the worse squad of players I can remember, by that I mean considering how much they earn because I know we've had terrible squads in the past but these players should be good enough and yet they all seem to not give a stuff. Well I hope when they leave none of them gain more success and end up rotting away in over bloated squads.

If the fan's reaction to Marsch coming in are anything to go by, I imagine they're pretty underwhelmed and I doubt they will have the willingness to fight with him in charge.

I quite like the coconut wheel one.

Other than that, liquorice gives me the shits.
