Shades of Harry Worley being played centre mid at Stoke away May 2008 lol

I just feel his combative skill and pace is exactly what we need in midfield.

He's also better at carrying the Ball than KDH in possession and has a good engine.

KDH and NDiddi are clearly out of form.

We can't continue to keep doing things the same way, We've got to find a way to get more from the same squad as their the only players we have to choose from after Rogers disastrous signings.

I'm losing it to the point on betting on our relegation......go down with drinking money in my pockets (might need it) or I lose a 50 note to stay up.

Look, you can analyse the fixtures all you want but our form is so erratic that everything depends on which Leicester City we see in the last few games. If it’s the Leicester that thrashed Forest, Villa and Spurs then we have a good chance but if it’s the Leicester that lost to Bournemouth or Southampton then it’s cheerio PL.

We are capable of playing really well but only very sporadically. It all depends whether Smith et al can light a spark.

They're 4 points ahead of us mate! We've earnt 4 points in the last 3 months, so i think they'd rather be in their position than ours!

They aren't outside the relegation conversation though, like you originally said. They are apricot deep in it. And getting hammered lots.

I know it’s said by everyone as a cliche, but it really is one week at a time. All these super computer predictions, form guide, reverse fixture comparison is just not worth it. Lose the next two and I think it’ll be the last nail in our relegation. I think losing to Bournemouth more or less sealed our fate.

It’s the hope that kills you. We’re 19th and 2pts from safety. One win for Everton or Florest and that changes everything. We’re in a rubbish situation.

I've stared at fixture lists and form for hours this week.

I haven't got a fXXXXg clue what's going to happen lol

This is the best thing and why we all love football, we can all look at the fixtures, form and all the rest of it, but at the end of the day anything can happen.

We could go and win 6 of our last 7 like the great escape season.

The end of the season is even better, you have teams who we expect to win bottling league titles, top 4 European places.
We've got teams on the beach, more and more as the season goes on.

We’ve got teams fighting for their lives and others giving up.

Any person, pundit or super computer that tries to predict what’s going to happen has got no chance - and it would be bloody boring if they could.

I’d say sit back, enjoy the ride and watch Southampton, Forest and Everton go down 😂

Alternative we’re one win, from being out of danger and potentially 3 wins from safety.
I won’t believe we are gone until it’s a mathematical certainty and even then I’ll cross my fingers Everton and Man City are relegated due to financial mismanagement.

The thing is, our form is'nt erratic. We havent had a sniff of winning for TEN matches. That's not erratic - that is consistant - very, very consistant. People on here talking about beating Wolves, beating Leeds, beating Everton...        .....based on what? A good defence?? A 'clicking' midfield?? A sharp attack???

Face it - we've forgotten how to win. Chances are that our next Premier League win will be in about ten years time.

I think you're right - They probably are in the conversation - the Liverpool game certainly changed my mind in that they completely crumbled under the pressure.

Having said that, they're still in a good position. Those chasing them are completely useless. We haven't won a game of football for 10 weeks. Forest & Southampton are toast.

They're in a significantly stronger position than those chasing them, not just because of their league position, but because of how incompetent those behind them are.

The next 2 games are absolutely huge - I cant see Forest or Everton picking up any points in their next 2 where as we need a minimum of 4 points which would face us up nicely for the Everton match where we could create abit of a cushion.

Obviously not everything is as black and white as that and it will be typical of our season that they also win their next 2 games.

It's often a horrible cagey game but we tend to get quite lucky against them. The games in bold we were second best on every occasion and didn't even let in a goal (which sort of sums them up, they're toothless and don't score many).

The 0-4 was a bit of a freak game as well.

That game in Feb 22 was frustrating, I thought we looked OK, more of a threat from attacking positions than them but two shots from outside the box beat us, just glad it's at home like you say the 0-4 freak game aside, I think we tend to get more results at home against them.

We’ve also got to remember that this team does like a run. And if you want some hope we have won back to back games against three of the four teams we have coming up.

The talent is there, it’s up to Smith et al to get that confidence back. Just look at our key players, they’re definitely better than those teams around us. 80% of this seasons issues have been Rodgers lack of ****s, he’s allowed us to sleep walk into this situation. Yes there are other issues contributing to our demise, but the % we can control we didn’t, because of the twat we continued to employ despite him throwing the towel in.

If Smith can get the players onside, and get a consistent team together for 4 games, we can do this. There’s enough in this team to go on a good run of form.

Looking at the table, Palace, Wolves, Bournemouth all largely safe. West Ham close to it. We might actually benefit from them becoming safer, because then our game vs West Ham on last day could be a dead rubber for them.

Looking like 3 out of the current bottom 5

Oh and here's everyone's points totals for the reverse fixtures of their remaining fixtures:

So Jon, the question has been asked "Is there any evidence that reverse fixtures correlate with first results"?
And as you are obviously a statistics master, possibly even a genius AND it was you who gave me (and possibly others) encouragement, l think it is clearly a job for you.
There is l think no need to analyse any more than say 25 - 30 seasons of data to arrive at a definitive answer to the question which shouldn't take long, well not that long.
Ideally it would be easily understandable Jon and it goes without saying - remain encouraging.

Thanks in advance.

The Feb 22 game was made worse by the weather that day

Is my prediction

If, and only if, your wins are correct (I think they're optimistic as a whole), then I think the other three results will be better.

You have no draws (to coin a phrase)...

I cannot see that we’ll have any cushion at any point to the end of the season

it’s squeaky bum time for six or so weeks and if we lose on Saturday then it’s not even that.  We really need to win on Saturday but if we then beat leeds and Everton after a draw on Saturday then we’re still v much alive

Forest last won on February 5th

We last won on February 11th

If they are toast, we are definitely crispy warm bread ourselves & in no position to be looking round at how siht anyone else is.

Both clubs are a win from exiting the drop zone.

Our last two wins were putting four each past Villa & Spurs in a week, both now after the last CL spot. We are absolutely capable of beating Wolves, Leeds, Everton & putting the feet up if things were done right around here. Let's hope they are.

I think the general idea is that we'll either stay up on merit (by getting the 2-4 wins we need) or stay up by default by two of Leeds, Forest and Everton being terrible

I think we can somehow just remain unbeaten away from home. Even if we sit back gain a 0-0 draw here and there but get those vital victories at home would may just do it. I think Deano can get a win Saturday then boost that'll give will really lift the squad and that start of belief.
