We have the 1 point out of 27. If we don't buck that trend we have had it  we are still in it and we can get out of it. Let's see how we go against Wolves. I did not see game Saturday but seems we made a fist of it as the game went on and that is more than most do!

I think if the games were played on paper we'd probably stay up comparing run-ins. So much is about character now though, and we've heaped so much pressure on ourselves by being so awful since the world cup. Worst team since the world cup on 8 points, if we'd matched the 11 that the second worse teams have then we wouldn't be in the relegation spots. We've been so bad for so long.

Wins are of course vital, particularly against those around us, but I would also love to see us turn potential losses into draws. We've drawn so few games this season and those odd points here and there really would make the difference and help build a bit of momentum over the last 7 games.

key thing is winning even if we win these games 1-0 for example, or by a one goal margin our goal difference relative to the likes of Forest / Everton / Bournemouth is far better. But we need to win don’t care how as long as we win.

I've crunched some numbers relating to difficulties of each teams run in:

Average league position of opponents:

Leeds: 9.6

Everton: 11.5

--------------------

Forest: 9.7
Leicester: 11.8

Southampton: 8.8

Average points total of opponents last 10 matches:

Leeds: 13.3

Everton: 15.1

--------------------

Forest: 13.5
Leicester: 12.8

Southampton: 13.5

Takeaway is that Everton have a harder run in than it looks because they are playing a few in form teams, however the danger is that those teams, such as Bournemouth, Wolves and Palace may be on the beach by then.

15 of the other 19 teams in the league have secured more than double our points tally (8) since the World Cup. The only exceptions to that are the teams in the mini league with us ie Southampton (11) Everton (13), Leeds (14) and Forest (14). Our form has been truly abysmal. In fact, we are on the verge of losing the most games we've ever lost in a 38 game season - even under Taylor and then Bassett in 01/02 we lost only 20 games in an entire season.

Mini-League between us Everton and Forest for me. I think Leeds will just have enough.

Everton home match is gigantic. Think we can afford to draw the Wolves match and pick up 3 wins elsewhere.

Asking for Rodgers back?

Just said that he hopes the new manager can turn us around. Nothing of interest.

The fans have created a toxic atmosphere and need to get behind the players, apparently. Didn't explain why he thought the crowd has turned.

Yeh definitely needed to remove this 2 point gap. Nothing would give us as much confidence as a win too - however we achieve it. Could be a horrible performance on Saturday but if we win it will feel like a completely different place. However, I think the likes of Leeds A, Fulham A, and Liverpool H are potential games where a point could be really valuable - though I think we should be approaching every single one of the remaining games like we want to go and win it.

Not saying we should go full Everton but this belief from some that the club (players included) should be beyond any criticism is really weird.

Looking at everyone else's fixtures, in particular Forest and Everton, we really ought to stay up. Wolves at home is monumental given everyone else has tricky fixtures.

Leeds last 5 games will be likely pointless. If we can beat them and Everton and squeeze ahead it will be difficult for them.

This is the league table if all of the fixtures from the first encounters between teams end up with the exact same result...

Wouldn't fancy that last day!

I think if we get out of the relegation zone this weekend then we'll stay out of it. If we don't then I think we're in trouble.

Wolves are a weird team though. I can't remember the last time we genuinely outplayed them. Even in October when we beat them 4-0 it didn't really sum up the game.

During our current stay in the Premier League, we've only beaten them by more than one goal once at the King Power. Interestingly though, they've not scored a single goal at the King Power in that time.

Record reads;

Aug 18 - Leicester 2-0 Wolves

Jan 19 - Wolves 4-3 Leicester

Aug 19 - Leicester 0-0 Wolves

Feb 20 - Wolves 0-0 Leicester

Nov 20 - Leicester 1-0 Wolves

Feb 21 - Wolves 0-0 Leicester

Aug 21 - Leicester 1-0 Wolves

Feb 22 - Wolves 2-1 Leicester

Oct 22 - Wolves 0-4 Leicester

Record reads well for us but I just can never shake the feeling that we never play well against Wolves.

I am surprised that Leeds probability of relegation is considered so much lower than the likes of us and Everton given they still have to play Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle. Presume it's only because they would need two teams to go past them and have a slight buffer. They'll definitely be eying our fixture as the 3 points that will pull them clear though.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I remember that 0-0 I think it was the opening game of the season and they should have hammered us.

We have to get to 17th asap - that puts pressure on whoever is below us and means they must better our results.

How people can predict a win at Fulham is beyond me!

Personally l can see a maximum of 9 points.

I think Soton and Forest are gone but for me the two crucial games are Everton (because l think it's us or them and have since we didn't try for Dyche), and West Ham who l think will not need anything and be relaxed when only a win will possibly save us.

If this scenario plays out we are sunk cos we will bottle it 100%.

Yeah it should be a tasty game that’s for sure. If we can get above them by winning it really could be the key to survival.
