Just had to be his moment. Fair play to him.

Was Jimmy crying?!

No doubt. He was the same when Cookie retired.

Fitting end. I think we were the better team throughout the series and would have been a travesty if australia had won 3-1. A couple of things either way and it might have been 5-0.

We always see a nice pic of the players sharing a beer after a series, would be great to be in the room with them. Some great conversation.

A draw vindicates the style if play, and they have mellowed a little bit since Lords. Aggressive but not stupid. Really hope we can continue to be effective until we go down under.

Exactly. It's a fantastic way to play cricket - but you need a modicum of common sense to go with it. I don't believe it has to be all or nothing.

After the Lords 'stumping', very appropriate that Bairstow caught Carey off Broad's bowling to win the match.

If only it didn't rain in Manchester...

This team will be up there with the 1976-84 Windies, 90’s Aussies, mark my words. They have that fearless streak that both of those teams had!

Strange results…where major desciscions most likely handed Australia the Ashes.

Playing wise Bazball vindicated..

Our tail still need to learn to wag.

Maybe the major difference between the 2 sides.

Smith & Warner, were not the major players..

Head,Marsh & Khawaja,with a young  Murphy..Australian Headliners

Australia..since 2005,one of the best “ Aussie teams” to visit our shores.

Aussies remain rightly and earning their stripes as the most difficult team to beat.

Root,Stokes,Brook & 2 delightfull Bazball openers specialists, supported by a diverse bowling unit, that will not bowl together again..

oh Rain gods what did you do…And no captain should ever declare on the 2nd day!!

Stunning. We’d have won three in a row without the weather. Amazing mentality.

Fabulous end to a great series. What a way for Broad to bow out, absolute hero.

Six straight home Ashes series unbeaten, now the task is to be better in Australia.

Brilliant entertainment

Piggin rain probably cost us the best ashes comeback ever.

Nope, Aussies came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in 1936/37. I'm amazed that you can't remember that, it felt like it was yesterday!!

I hope so. It just seems this series has gone very quickly.

It has. The schedule has to be sorted, we need this across three more weeks, proper breaks in between matches and not flogging the players across six weeks to shove in some plastic nonsense.

I think the fact the ODI World Cup starts in October has a part to play in this too. Usually, we play ODI & T20 series after a test series.

The fact the ECB have deliberately tried to make The Ashes a kind of advert for their Hundred is pretty shocking really.

England should have won the series, just missed their chances in the first two tests. What I’m most impressed was how they (mostly) learned from their mistakes in the first two to be so solid in the last three. I think every player has played their part too. They’ve not relied on individuals, it’s a full team effort.

Just a shame there’s no tests for five

months and none in England till next July.
