They tried to deduct 17 points from Everton in total which ended up being 8 overall. 12 for the first case but the independent panel gave them 10, which was reduced to 6 on appeal for mitigation. Then demanded 5 points for the second case, which ended up being just 2. With Forest they tried to deduct 6 points, which ended up as 4 thanks to de Marco, which they've appealed and should be hearing about any time soon.

This was in the report from the second Everton deduction:

In this case, we have read and considered with care the parties’ submissions in this respect, set out above at paragraph 159 above and not repeated here. In our view, many if not most of the criticisms levelled against the Club in this respect by the PL are unwarranted, overstated, or both. In our view, the Club has indeed cooperated with the PL in the presentation of these proceedings according to the Standard Directions (to which the Club consented from the outset) albeit in a manner that protected (quite properly) the interests of the Club.

Couple that with how they've behaved with us - 1. trying to fast track our case when those rules came in this season and didn't apply to us as we weren't in their league; 2. trying to hand down the deduction to the EFL so that we get a points deduction this season, which again, is not in their rules and they can't actually do it; 3. sharing confidential club information with the EFL which is against the law.

I think they'll try and give us the maximum possible but we'll end up with less than 6 from the panel, which we'll appeal and get reduced again. If they hadn't repeatedly broken their own rules I think the club might have just held their hands up and accepted the punishment. But we're on the warpath now. We'll challenge every single thing the Premier League tries to do against us from now on. And I think we'll win.

What’s also important to recognise is the premier leagues inability to make a decision from the off….. they’ve pussyfooted around and it’s made them look incompetent. The fact we’ve got legal backing in now will aid us, because those who decide how to administer the points can’t just suddenly get it right…… they’ve started throwing their weight around without properly understanding their own legislation, which will comeback to do their legs. If Forest get all of their points back, then Everton will have to surely, a breach is a breach and that’s that, they can’t go around just making things up as they go along? Which is essentially what they’re doing. Dishing out points, taking them back, dishing out some more and then taking more back….. it’s chaotic…..

Yes they do but that wasn't the case here. If they allow this they'll open a can full of worms. Keeper was shoved and pushed there. Please don't destroy the sport more. By common sense you can tell which situations are 50-50.

Keeper was barged whilst he was in the air trying to collect the ball. It’s a foul. If they were both grounded I think there could be a claim it was 50 50 but that’s a foul all day long.

Man U are like a tribute act to football. Eriksen and Evans have no place playing at this level. Jonny was pony for both goals, and the pundits were biting him up before the game.

Ten haag will reconsider that move to bayern now.

West Ham have some of the most exciting attacking players in the league and set up for pretty much every game like they're a non-league team playing for extra time and penalties in the cup

On what planet do Evans and Casemiro play in the Premier League as a centre-half pairing?

If a 5 year old selected that combination in FIFA I’d frown and have a word

Tbh bit like Man U I wasn’t really concentrating fully .

Just saw the ending bit where it seemed to be not much contact.

Not that is really excuses them as Palace ought to be 4/5 up .

Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks like Old Jesus, and he's going to have to fund a miracle this Summer.

Man U all over the place but a bit unlucky with that disallowed goal ?

Definitely. If that involves 2 outfield players, it's not a foul.

There was full contact. If both were jumping up on a straight angle it would have been a debate. These situations were clear in 80s and 90s and nobody was arguing.

It's a foul again if two outfield players are involved. Why are you guys trying to make the sport more complex? Stick with the basic foundation of rules that made football popular. You're going to ruin everything for all of us eventually.

Surely playing an inexperienced centre half at centre half is better than playing someone who isn't a centre half at centre half?

West Ham have been rubbish for a while. We all of clubs should know you can sack a succesful manager because the trajectory is awful

Agreed. No doubt the likes of Keys and Merson will be raging but they need a change. Some shocking results this season.

Ok from what I saw there was slight contact but so long as it’s consistently given then fair enough.

Hardly ruining anything - if anything people say too many fouls are given for incidents.

Anyway doesn’t matter .

Palace fully deserve to be 3-0 up.

Never thought I'd be glad to hear Alan Smith but at least we haven't got Neville sulking and going even more Manc than usual.

Mason Mount just looked like he completely ignored ETH as he was shouting instructions to him.  lol
