It's true though to an extent, the most powerful pre the Premier League were those with either wealthy owners who ploughed money in or powerhouse clubs who generated lots of revenue.

I am fascinated by clubs that build success on a budget, but it's so difficult and so rare to do. Clubs that have a model to buy low and sell high, however they do it (Brentford and Brighton come in to it) is the only way clubs of their size, ours and probably even yours can try and compete but as you say, a lot of this still comes down to the owners investing what they can within the sham of the rules that are in place.

If a big club maximizes their revenue potential and can spend well and wisely to win things, that's life and that's businesses.  The structure of a meritocracy in sport will always favour the teams from the larger cities in that way.  Leeds didn't get the biggest gates or make the most commercial revenue in 1992 but we were big enough to compete with what we had, made really smart choices and had some good youth players.  I accept that Crewe were never going to win the league then but even with a billionaire, they wouldn't now either.  It's always going to be slanted toward the bigger clubs but there's a big difference between being able to generate large income and being handed it by a dodgy state who want to boost their image whilst they bomb the children next door.

Crazy close from 3rd down in the as it stands table. Norwich were going 3rd at one point on Saturday but now 14th, Middlesbrough currently in the play off places.

**** Leeds anyway.  I can't believe ESPN are streaming them instead of Nige's lads taking a piece out of Ipswich at Ashton Gate.

Vile choice.

We really did break Norwich huh? 2.28 ppg going into the game against us, 0.67 ppg since that game

We broke Ashley Barnes in that game, he's been out injured since. Might have something to do with it, as he seemed a really important player for them.

Feels quite sweet tbh. Always felt their sh**house draw with us in 19/20 was the beginning of our downfall that season

Leeds lose tonight then draw against Huddersfield at home at the weekend and then we absolutely smash them next week would be lovely.

I think they’ll be with us like Peterborough in Div 1, until we thrash them at Christmas time like we did to Posh. 😊

Didn't realise how much adrift Sheffield Wednesday were. Absolute state they're in.

Leeds look shite!

but have some good individuals

I get annoyed how we're highlighted for having an expensive squad, when leeds have a £35m winger
