I suspect the ambiguity is not accidental. He’s having some fun at our expense…

I love Kel... But I'm not convinced he's smart enough for that.

Reports from Nigeria have repeatedly linked Kelechi Iheanacho to the club. However, The Athletic’s understanding is that, while the Leicester City striker is one of countless players offered to Forest, suggestions a deal has been agreed are off the mark.

That’s such a weird sentence. Have we really offered so many players to Forest that it’s not possible to count them all?

Presumably they’re including players offered from other clubs (the sentence is a little ambiguous). Even so, it’s disappointing to hear that we’re offering Iheanacho to other clubs. I was hoping he’d be one we’d keep.

It means countless players [from any club] offered to Forest

And importantly here, it won't really be clubs doing it it'll be agents.

The Athletic are also careful to say "reports in Nigeria."

As diplomatically as possible without burning future bridges they're saying its a complete load of rubbish.

It's quite likely Iheanacho leaves given the combination of: his quality + contract situation + our relegation. But it won't be to Forest for £8m!

This is very true, Rudkin factor means it will be Forest for £3m.

I don't know who's more stupid here, us offering Iheanacho up to a local rival (albeit in another league) or them turning it down.

He easily starts for them

He'd be a good option (if not a starter) for every club in the PL bar Man City & Arsenal.

He was criminally underused for us.

I suspect he's not the best in training. Probably a combination of effort and understanding. But in a game, his instincts are fantastic, and he can score. He must make a mess of it during the week.

I don’t believe we’d offer a player to anyone, you’d just declare him up for sale. He’ll bag 20 goals in the championship he’s got a massive part to play getting us back up. Very silly if we let him go.

Not a massive queue for his services.

Can't see either Pool or ManU going for him.

Could be a back-up option for Kane at Spurs.

West Ham?

I think that's borne out of ignorance. From the outside it'd look as though he's not good enough to start PL games, that was Rodgers' mistreatment rather than anything else. 68 PL starts for us, 30 goals, 21 assists. If you were in the market for a 2nd choice or auxiliary striker you should be in for him.

I thought we would have interest from anyone in the bottom 10 last year or one of the promoted teams.

Kels, Wilf (and Big Dan) are all quite devout Christians aren't they?. I wonder if the Saudi move might put them off (obvs Leicester - and most other big UK cities -  has loads of African Pentecostal type churches to choose from for a religious guy)

I’d like him to name check the “Five Top Premier League clubs all showing an interest” just to see how Top they are

I love Kel, but if a Saudi club is gonna offer stupid money, in our situation we should snap their hands off. £30-40m will do it lol

Unfortunately, I don’t think this will happen. If a Saudi club has come in with a silly offer he would have been told to leave. He clearly is seeing what prem teams come in for him and the Saudi offer would be about 15/20 at most.
