His debut was at West Brom in the league the saturday before the cup game

And what a game of two halves that was! IIRC, McGhee’s team purred that day, going 0-3 up. Then Spider, who’d been decent in a largely unemployed first half got the jitters, gave them to the whole defence and we just about hung on to win 2-3!

Loved how he stood on the edge of the 6 yard box at corners was a nightmare saying that was first Leicester goalie never to concede at Wembley lol

I had a mate that lived in Woolaston (spelling) near Stourbridge that was a big baggies fan, and I always stayed over at his mum and dad's place (lovely people) when Leicester were playing around that area.

Great place for when we played in Brum or Wolves,Port Vale and Stoke.

Great nights out in all the surrounding places 🍺😍

He used to stay at ours ,when Albion played at Luton,Watford or London

Brondby signing a keeper on loan from Levekusen, and Luton have just signed Tim Krul. So not sure where Iversen ends up…

Palace?

Iversen will end up somewhere be it on loan or on a permanent deal. I am sure there will be interest from clubs in the championship, lower end of prem and on the continent, it’s just whether we want to sell/loan to a rival or if the enquiries/offers we have received match our asking price.

If we get to the end of the window with 5 goalkeepers then I want the club liquidating. An absolute farce.

Are outgoings the head of recruitment responsibility?

Or down to the DOF.

Either way it needs a shake up.

Lower end of the prem would be leaving it late, can’t see it unless an injury to a senior or reserve GK forces a clubs hand.

Everything is ultimately the DOFs responsibility. He's the director in charge of the playing staff at the club.

He'll obviously have staff below him who he'll delegate work to. I'd be surprised if the Head of Recruitment is tasked with moving players on, I'd imagine that happens as a combination of work between Rudkin and the players' agents.

If they're loans, I believe we still have Robert Huth as a loan manager? I'm assuming part of his job is probably trying to find and judge appropriate loan moves for developing footballers. I doubt he's on the phone to Championship DOFs offering them Iversen and Ward on loan mind. I'm guessing the bigger part of his job is being a point of contact for young players out on loan and making sure they have everything they need.

They could all be on the bench at once the way we're going.

He’s not a prem keeper and worth more than most championship teams can afford, will be tough to shift permanently this window

I am also confused, whats newsboy Gloverˋs responsibility. Haven’t heard since he was recruited…

Only 2 games but I was impressed with young GK „Starsky“, one commentatator mentioning he hadn’t much to do,but I seen him pull off 2 top saves, other decent saves or interceptions. Plus his general all round play & confidence. For first real competitive game IMO,reminded me of those highty days when we had 2-4 exceptional reserve GKs,behind Shilton & Wallington..

I still remain faithfull to Iversen, wasn’t really tried often enough  in this new broom sweeping clean era..The forum is split it seems, but honestly why buyMADs,when we could have had Starsky & Ivers competing for Nr 1 jersey.

Though happy to have all 3. Iversen wants now 1st team football, and I suppose he wants the move…

Difficult situation for him..Waited & bided his chance +time, got his chance did in a very (maybe for his team too late) short and awkward time,a more than decent job..Distribution weighed  between good & poor, but that  placement depends on managers tactical wishes & not blind kicking from GK..

Real Gk duties despite mistake strewn midfield & defence, shot stopping IMO decent to top.commanding area & crosses no catastrophes pretty decent.

Penalty area & 6yrd box Should have been given & taken it into his own hand. Unfortunately,A manager who couldn’t/wouldn’t support his GK especially in latter named responsibility..

Any critic in his direction, same as young players,I take with a pinch of salt.

This was going to be his season, Situation and manager( without knowing) has taken that star from him..Twists & fate of life..Shame really!!
Where at present Starskys might take off..

We aren't ever shifting Ward. He is champ/div 1 keeper at best. But on generous Prem wages. Worst of all scenarios. We will end up subsidising at least 70% of his wages/contract to encourage anyone to have him. Shocking business

You’d be hard pressed to find league one side who would take him. He turned us into a laughing stock last season.

I thought someone would pull me up on the Champ reference. Not Div 1!! Absolutely hilarious and yet tragic how he dismantled his own reputation

Two different people here talking about their jobs and an overview from The Athletic. There's others that are good to listen to, obviously Txiki himself has a few out there because of All Or Nothing which are great viewing given he's probably the best in the world, there's a lot of media out there with Stuart Webber of Norwich who is extremely vocal and kinda the anti Rudkin for transparency and public image.

Dan Ashworth is now at Newcastle and he's analogous with Jon Rudkin. You've then got a Head of Recruitment (a la Martyn Glover) talking about the approach at Brentford, the second half of that in particular is quite interesting as he talks through a couple of different transfers. Funnily enough, Dykes has actually been promoted now and is the Technical Director at Brentford.

Depending on the club these roles might sit at different places on the corporate structure but in our case it's my understanding that Martyn Glove is a service manager responsible for all things Recruitment at the football club, he'll answer to Jon Rudkin who in turn will be responsible for a whole load of other service managers who oversee everything from Sports Science and nutrition to recruitment and even coaching the first team.

If your job at Leicester pertains to the playing squad (as opposed to selling tickets, applying for planning permission, setting marketing strategy or managing buildings and facilities) chances are you report either directly to Jon Rudkin or to someone who does.

Glover's job is to manage the team (probably a mixture of data analysts and more conventional, old school "scouts") that will basically take a shopping list of desired roles from a committee involving Rudkin, Enzo, maybe Whelan, Glover himself and perhaps some sort of head of data analytics who will have decided what the short falls in the squad are and where we need to recruit.

Glover's team then take that shopping list and go and identify a bunch of targets they think are appropriate and attainable and I guess they bring it back to said committee who will want to reach a concensus about which they want and how to prioritise. It'll then be up to Rudkin or Whelan to attempt to negotiate with those players, their agents and their clubs.

I'm just going to assume Smithies is here to do his badges as it's too painful to actually think we have 5 first team keepers on the books.

Hermansen and Stol seems to be 1 and 2, however, Stol will be easier to ship out on loan so I can definitely see it being Hermansen and Iversen after the window shut.

HOPEFULLY... Ward also goes, if smithies is still around in some capacity there's no need to worry about 3rd choice.

But in summary I don't think Iversen leaves at this stage, I think he becomes number 2 and Stol goes out on loan.

If we announce that Iversen is available for loan then i'd imagine there'll be a lot of Championship teams wanting him.

@AjcWDisagree. If Stol is number 2 in Enzos eyes after the fact Herm has already been out injured after 1 game I can't see them taking the risk of having to play a keeper that doesn't fit his ideals.

If Iversen was going to be number two he would have played at Burton or at any point in preseason. He's not in the plans, his distribution is shit. That's evidently very important to Maresca.

I keep thinking Leeds, feel like someone comes in late for Meslier.
