Can we finally get rid of Ward now please?

we have 2 really solid keepers worthy of playing in the premier league. We are gonna need them for the first few games to shot stop everything!

Was Bazanu the worst for this stat in the Prem last season as well? I remember him being up their with Ward. Quite the achievement to be worst 2 seasons in a row even after dropping down a level.

He was and comfortably the worst as well.

Someone will still find fault with him and totally ignore the good stuff.

Fact is, he's a proven shot stopper and have saved us more points than he's lost us.

I think  his wages have made him difficult to move.  The club will have to work out a way to move him along in the summer. I was hoping Wrexham. would. be interested

Mads has been one of our best signings in the last few years. His shot stopping reminds me of a prime kasper. I always fancy home to pull off a save when the attacker breaks through our defence.

Fed up of talking about Ward. Get him gone.

Not only was he the worst last season, he was the worst on record since they began these xG stats. Southampton persists with him due to his decent distribution, but he's by far the worst shot-stopper I've ever seen at this level and it shows on their goals conceded despite being 4th place.

“I am absolutely delighted” – Leicester City player walking on cloud nine and bursting with happiness
By Sean Lunt -10th May 2024

Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has admitted he is walking on cloud nine after the club secured their return to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has been speaking to Ekstra Bladet about his success with Leicester this season after they were crowned Championship winners and sealed their return to the top flight.

Hermansen has been the number one for the Foxes this season under Enzo Maresca, making 44 appearances in the Championship and keeping 13 clean sheets, as well as only conceding 41 goals in total.

It’s been a successful year for him after he joined Leicester in a €7.7m deal from Brondby IF in the summer as the Foxes prepared for life back in the Championship.

It means he’s been a key part of the side this season who managed to finish a point ahead of Ipswich Town at the top of the table.

Playing such a role means he’s been at the centre of a fascinating season for the Foxes, who flew out of the traps following relegation last season.

They appeared to be on course to secure an easy return to the Premier League but stumbled in the second half of the campaign, allowing the other promotion chasers to rally and put pressure on them at one point.

Fortunately, Leicester rallied again and ensured they went up at the first time of asking and Hermansen admits he ended up learning a lot about himself thanks to the journey they’ve been on.
“I also think that you are personally tested along the way when you take those steps up the career ladder. Then you also get to know yourself better, and I am challenged on some things personally, which make me feel good,” he said.

“I am learning to appreciate friends and family and to have time with them, for example. There are just many things in it that you are challenged with when you are abroad and when things are going as well as they are doing right now.

“First of all, it’s about football for me, and the most important thing for me is to be on the field and deliver in a team that appreciates me. I’m just looking forward to doing that at the next level as well.

“I am looking forward to being a part of it. The Championship is also huge over here, but globally there is nothing that comes close to the Premier League, and it will be special.

“It will also be something that I have to learn to deal with when you are in it in relation to how big it is. But it’s a surreal thought, and there’s also a little holiday to be had.  It will also be necessary before we embark on the new, but I am absolutely delighted.”

Enjoy your holiday, Mads!

Had to pay Brondy another £575k for him following promotion

Total cost so far is around £6.5m

Brondby also have a sell on clause of between 10 and 15%

https://bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/glaeder-sig-over-millionbonus-skylder-brondby-sindssygt-meget

Mads Hermansen already secured Brøndby more than DKK 50 million. kroner when the Danish keeper was sold to Leicester, but recently another five million ticked over. into the account.

Vestegnsklubben had, according to Bold's information, secured a promotion clause, which was thus triggered when 'The Foxes' secured an existence in the Premier League from next season.

The new millions mean that Brøndby has currently earned around DKK 57 million. kroner on the goalkeeper, who was part of the Masterclass system before he broke through in the first team and was then sold to the English.

But that number could rise further.

According to Bold's information, the blue and yellow have also secured a resale clause of between 10 and 15 percent.

Still brilliant business

Just shows the value to be had in such countries. Although we paid a record fee from that league for Kristiansen, it's still possible to get the best players from Scandinavia for less than £10m.
