We really should, but benching a legend is hard. I can understand why the new manager needs to be absolutely sure that Mads has surpassed Schmeichel - and that he doesn’t lose too much in terms of relations on and off the field.

What a signing he has been.

It might be difficult to keep him if big offers from the top clubs come in. But seeing that we should never put anyone in goal who’s not Danish Chelsea could give us Jörgensen and a shitload of money for him - wouldn’t be too bad, he’s two years younger than Hermansen and have already been Villarreal’s no. 1 for a season.

Allison, Ederson…

Hard to judge as Mads faces way more shots and has much worse defenders in front of him.

Anyone have any concerns about a January approach from Man City? Pep is desperate, he’s already dropped Ederson and he will likely go to Saudi in Jan too…

Probably only  him in our squad that has big value, maybe Bilal at some point, if we go back to a big sale a year from a business point of view then I can't see him staying past this summer. 100% if we go down. 

 

Could potentially lose all our goal-keepers this summer.

I think he's elite but there's a few overestimations of where he's at at the moment in here. A lot of his value is that he's producing these performances at such a young age. Brilliant signing.

I don’t get the Ederson hype at all. I’m not saying Mads is better but Ederson is one of the most over rated keepers that’s ever been in the prem, purely because he can pick a pass out.

I think right now he's probably better than Ederson. Which worries me for January, let alone summer, as some clubs could come knocking on the door for him. 

 

What reassures me (to an extent) is that you can already safely presume Van Nistelrooy is well aware that there's a possibility Hermansen leaves and they're already succession planning for it... 

 

He's quite clearly our best player right now. And that's in spite of conceding several goals which aren't really his fault.

Kasper is still in goal for Denmark because he keeps making big saves and is a natural leader on and off the pitch. It's the last bit which I think is the main reason he's still first choice.

 

It's also the biggest question mark over Hermansen at this point. He's a growing presence in both squads and his recent comments on wanting to properly challenge for the first team spot in 2025 tells me he is very ambitious and can grow into another leader.

 

The Danish NT have been notoriously slow in replacing their starting goalkeeper for most of my life (P Kjær to P Schmeichel, P Schmeichel to T Sørensen, T Sørensen to K Schmeichel*) so it's almlst culturally embedded that there has to be a sharp decline in performances before the replacement takes over.

 

*there was a short transition period with S Andersen/A Lindegaard before Kasper took over the reins.

Kelleher will be available in the summer too I would imagine, seeing as he has a higher profile than Mads (just because he plays for Liverpool) could see teams trying to go for him first.
