How come every manager has a problem with him? It’s him isn’t it. Well done Leicester for awarding him with another 3yr deal, top work from JR again. Get him gone

Enzo wanted him, Enzo directed the club to renew his contract. They did that and then Enzo left. Can’t blame Rudkin on that one

im sure we can if we try, he should have made the contract pending on whether Maresca was still manager at the start date.

I can he’s shite someone in the club needs to be dealing with these issues. Like paying more than double what skipp is actually worth.

You can absolutely blame Rudkin for the length. Even when Maresca said he wanted it renewed, any club with anything like a vision would weigh up what Vestegaard will be like in 2-3 years. They'd look at whether it's a worthwhile investment compared to going out and buying a better player.

It's just ****ing amateur all round. If he's really on 70k as well. Get again they probably felt so embarrassed they'd let Enzo down with so many empty promises, they go and do silly deals like this to appease him. Then he ****s off anyway.

"hi Enzo, Rudderz here, just finalising Vesty's new contract, he laughed off my 18 month offer and wants longer"

He iz pivitol to ze system, giv him 3 year

"Sure thing daddio"

"right thats all sorted, rudderz to the rescue...by the way, Chelsea were asking about you so i sent them a fresh copy of your resume and gave them your home number.

See you in training bossXxX"

All of what you have said, but also, on the Enzo leaving but and the fact Vestergaard had his deal renewed early in the summer, where was he really going to go?

We could have waited, he’d have been sweating on getting a new club. Once Enzo left we could have then pulled the plug completely or if he did sign a new deal, it could have been shorter length on lower wages.

It was just sheer laziness to not go out and find an alternative.

Plus we already had Conor Coady in the squad who can also sit as a central defender doing what Vestergaard does passing out from the back. Could have got a younger quicker CB instead as replacement.

I disagree with that, I get supporting the manager, but it's decisions like this, that should be taken away from managers, we did it with Brendan, Enzo, then Cooper, the sum of that, is a team of misfits and has beens, so actually yeah I blame Rudkin, it's just a lazy option to agree with the manager, surely experience and time in the DOF role has taught him this.

He isn't a novice at this, I just think he went with the easiest and simplest option, that's his trademark

Or even kept Ben Nelson instead of loaning him out.

Did not get the edit in in time. Guess I will have to leave it now. 😅 Bloody autocorrect.

New national coach for Denmark, who says form will be important, so no idea how Jannik made it in.

Largely irrelevant to the wider discussion but Coady absolutely cannot pass the ball as well as Vestergaard does.

His long passing is decent. But vesty calmness and short range passing is much better than any other defender.

I suspect he will be starting for us in the championship where we will have most of the ball.

I wonder if 'Vesty' will have another redemption arc next season when fans forget about his heinous performances this season and believe that he has suddenly turned good again whilst failing to appreciate the huge drop off in quality of the opposition?

As much as he was praised last season, it was always tempered with, '...but we'll need someone better in the Premier League.'

Not sure he'd be agile enough for squash, or to even drink a glass of it.

Depends how quickly teams work out that they can get at us this time. I think fear factor carried us for quite a lot of last season really.
