Iran Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 (edited) Galatasaray wants to transfer Yunus Akgün to Leicester and hire Wout Faes. Yunus's talks with Leicester continue. Faes didn't want to play in the Championship. Edited 10 August 2023 by Iran Translation 1
urban.spaceman Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 ONLY if we've got someone better lined up. 2
ALC Fox Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 Is he one of the six who have been persuaded to stay or the seventh who still wants to leave regardless? CB for the Belgium national team is wide open really and he'd fancy his chances if playing in a top flight league.
Popular Post coolhandfox Posted 10 August 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 August 2023 Maybe he shouldn't have defended like a plum if he didn't want to play in the championship. 31 1 7
Lambert09 Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 i’d rather play in the championship than in turkey. Even with getting battered in the champions league included. Cant see why you’d want it personally unless you’re getting more money .. which he wouldn’t 2
Popular Post SecretPro Posted 10 August 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 August 2023 Turkish clubs don't ever actually sign players from English Leagues because they just don't have the money or are bunch of tight c*nts so no, he won't be going. Turkish clubs are joke clubs. 5
FrankieADZ Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 aint no way we are selling unless we get the asking price and a replacement, plus as said they wont pay what we want, theyll try and blag a loan with an option to buy, and frankly we wont take that tbf he could easily be one of the players Enzo said had a change of heart and wants to stay now
Popular Post Paninistickers Posted 10 August 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 August 2023 I've swam against the tide with Wout Faes all summer. I think he's a superb player. Have done all the way through. Ok, standard so much lower than he's paid to play at, but he's looked imperious in the two games so far. 11
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 He looks a better player under Maresca, no need to sell him. 2

LeePhilpottsBaldSpot Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 If they match what we paid for him, I wouldn't be bothered about him moving on. Agree we would need a new CB though.
tetly Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 Take whatever they are offering he is rubbish. He cost us so many points last year. Terrible signing. 1 1
5waller5 Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 I’m not sure why he doesn’t seem to be rated on FT. I think he’s a decent player, if he can concentrate for a full 90 minutes he’ll be great 3

Has lot of good attributes to be a good CB, but needs to be more focused with better discison making and positional sense. Feel he could develop under Enzo. Edited 10 August 2023 by coolhandfox 1
Fox 66 Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 He could quite easily be one of the best centre half in the championship if he stays 4

SafewayFox Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 (edited) Faes is a poor man’s Soyuncu. Another Rodgers masterclass with his shocking treatment of Cags. Now imagine how good he’d have been playing Enzo ball. Edited 10 August 2023 by SafewayFox 1

Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 10 August 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 August 2023 (edited) I would sell him TBH. At this level he will be good, but we know he's a liability in the top league, and he is on top league wages. Of our centre backs, Callum Doyle has been the best one. That is off a small sample size, but I don't think it's egregious to say so. I've got no problem with the player, if he is motivated and wants to stay, that's not a problem for me, but he is far from "don't sell." So far the only ones that are in that camp are Ricardo, KDH and Kelechi. The guy will fancy his chances of making the European Championships squad for Belgium, so probably won't want to be here, same with several of our players. So far the fresh faces seem better suited than the old ones, so not a problem for me. Edited 10 August 2023 by StriderHiryu 10 1
Tielemans63 Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 Interesting mix of opinions! I think he'll be outstanding at this level, so I'm very much in the 'keep' camp. Think he'll become a key player for Maresca as he can bring the ball out of defence pretty comfortably. Also, if Souttar goes (as seems very likely), I'd be surprised to see another CB leave. 3
Pita Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 If he wants to go let him. We need players who will give 100% to the team 1
Dan Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 Faes is very good for the majority of the game but will have the occasional moment of madness that will cost you. He's not just a David Luiz lookalike but he really isn't dissimilar in how he plays.
Kierzz Posted 10 August 2023 Posted 10 August 2023 He will do a job in the championship but need to upgrade if / when we get back in the premier league
