For two of the weekends that there is a Sunday noon kick off, there is no Friday evening game. So they must think there’s a better audience in that slot.

Police advice is always a patchy point, it’s valid for the examples you’ve mentioned but they’ve selected Cardiff v Swansea for a 7.45pm Saturday kick off.

We’ve got off lightly so far but we will suffer eventually with all sorts of daft television times as we did last time we were in the division.

When the European competitions are underway, there is less chance of PL having Friday and Monday evening fixtures….so the Championship picks up the slack. Examples last season where if you get picked for a Monday, your midweek game goes to a Thursday which makes your next weekend game go to a Sunday.

I think the EFL is in many things but when you are at the top of the Champ, the scheduling is as annoying

We have matches in the same midweeks as European games.

Dont agree. They could have chosen other games if they want the Friday fixture rather than Sunday 12. Norwich v Milwall isn’t an obvious choice.

You are missing the point re European football. Sky want a live game as often as possible. When the European competitions are underway, there is less chance of PL having Friday and Monday evening fixtures….so the Championship picks up the slack. its Millwall and we dont know what advice has been given to the clubs or EFL in regards things, i know its a general thing to say but its rare to have a championship game on a sunday now, its mainly EPL,

and european football doesnt really affect or the EFL that much, look at last season for example in regards championship/EFL fixtures being moved cos of European football;

the premier league really doesnt have alot of games on a friday during a season, its easily less than 5 id say, its mostly championship games on a friday, and most european games are tues/weds/thurs, with Tuesday/Weds, most the time playing sat/sun/monday; where are teams on a thursday, usually play the Sunday/Monday,

Yes agreed. But I’m talking more about when they move your scheduled weekend game to a Monday because the PL won’t have a Monday night because of the European fixtures. Sky want football on the Monday night. So it’s not the PL, the championship or EFL will be on.

well they cant always do that since they have to partly work with the police to make sure its all ok to move

plus if there are european fixtures, usually they pick prem teams who arent in europe for them games

just look last season, see how many championship fixtures where on a monday, it really wont be alot compared to the EPL

also we are more likely to get games moved because of tigers than the european games

Can you define the "big 6" please?

I'm sure one of the Sky commentators this afternoon said something like being in the big 6 is nothing to do with finishing position.

It's abhorrent that the media perpetuate the narrative that those six teams are superior to everyone else and always will be.

As for the Championship, it's far more enjoyable to celebrate a goal spontaneously without glancing at the officials to see if a VAR intervention is looming.

Take a look at the Rotherham away thread 😂

Was looking forward to just rocking up without a ticket, sitting quietly with home fans, until Foxes score and its obvious the section is full of City fans. Isn't this allowed any more?

When you are playing well in the Championship the sheer amount of games is enjoyable. You also go into every game with the confidence. The flip side is when you do lose, it hurts even more than a defeat against Man C or Liverpool.

The thing I hate the most about not being in the top division is that our city diminishes in stature as a result.

You've got a point but there's an awful lot of people in this country who have absolutely zero interest in football. To  link success in football to stature of a city perhaps only matters to football fans like us.

Its nice to go into almost every match as favourites and actually have a feeling we can win matches.

Biggest attraction is certainly no VAR and the refs let a lot more go.

Watched some of the Premier League highlights and its plagued with VAR. Don't miss that one bit.

No VAR, the opportunity to visit different grounds for aways, and the feeling that we could actually win something again.

Agree with first two, we’ve won stuff very recently compared to vast majority of teams

I did not realise how much VAR had changed (perhaps even ruined) the game I grew up watching until these first two games of the Championship season. Football as most people prefer it just isn’t suited to the retrospective punishment and it loses a lot in the spontaneity of watching and getting invested in the game. I say this as someone who didn’t really have an issue with VAR in principle and I wasn’t too offended while we were subject to it week in, week out.
I think there’s something to be said for using technology to call offside if we can make it instantaneous. That’s a really tough call for linesman - although one they had been making for more than a century. Watching a game flow and knowing that it’s not going to be hauled back and celebrating a goal as soon as it goes in are two things that we have to get back to.

Is the correct response, really.

I can give people saying VAR. It is nice to have a goal, celebrate it and not worry about it being disallowed.

However, the big six bias is just rank hypocrisy because if you're a fan of Rotherham or Plymouth then it's likely you'll feel like some of you do while we're in the Premier League. Shunted to one side where the favourites get talked about us, Leeds, Soton, Coventry etc. Many now seem happy just because we're the big fish in the small pond.

As mentioned we wouldn't like it if we're still here in five years time. You lot would've had us sack manager after manager and call ownership decisions to get us out of it, rather than "oh this is so nice."

The vast majority of answers on here seem to have been either "big 6" "Carra and Neville" etc. This is easily avoidable, fyi. Stop watching Sky coverage wrapped around games on TV, tune into games on the TV one minute before and tune out straight after for games on Sky. Watch LCFC Hub if you want non-stop LCFC Talk. Sick of the big six? Listen to LCFC podcasts, find the niche podcasts that cater to "lower" PL teams, filter your social media to be an echo chamber of positions 7-20 in the Premier League. It's 2023, it's never been easier to control what you watch, listen to and read.

This league is shit. It's tinpot, it's smalltime, it's no easy access to watch a game, it's easy to get trapped here for years if we get it wrong, it's no away ticket cap and midweek treks to places ages away, it's EFL-level officiating (because everyone hates the refs), it's smaller ticket allocations, loaning PL teams' young players to develop them, it's watching teams the league above we were miles ahead of pull clear of us, it's a constant reminder of a wasted opportunity for this club to have solidified itself in the top half for years, it's having to build right back.

I'll enjoy it if we win with 102 points again but get us the eff out. Quickly.

You forgot to mention the bit that FFP makes the premier league even more of an un level playing field. Yes you have to watch the others pull away ( the big six ) and it’s impossible for the rest of the teams to compete even if they want to spend they can’t. For what’s happened to us rinse and repeat for Wolves or any other team that tries to compete.

the top 6 can sign players and if they end up duds sell at a loss and buy again. The likes of us and every other team of our caliber can’t afford any mistakes or demise beckons. The other issue is the money laundering high corporate scam of the likes of Newcastle , Chelsea & man city which to me makes the league ridiculously unbalanced and unfair. Premier league? Nah not for me now.

I think you can really feel connected to your club. I already feel that back in the championship after several years of feeling cold.

I think a lot of that's to do with Rodgers. I've given up my season ticket this season for the first time in many many years, and that was planned no matter what as I just detested going down.

Lots of things i like about the championship, much of which has already been mentioned. That said, I want to get out of it as fast as possible and much of the love in is because we’ve won three on the bounce. If we’d lost those games we all know that there would be no love in on these pages
