Forest is reportedly in for him now.

That's not good. I'm sure he will fancy the Premier  over the Championship .Maybe Maresca could be the decider !!

I highly doubt it. Like Hamer who went to most likely relegated to be Sheff United, for a young player especially,  the lure of playing in the premier league is going to super seed going to a club in the championship.

It gives the player an opportunity to prove he can play at that level, so if the team are relegated, he will be picked up by a more established premier league club despite a relegation.

I largely agree but a player and agent will weigh up all the pros and cons. Playing a bit part in a premier team with a large squad of talent versus a challenging championship team where they are likely to get more playing time. I think the draw of playing under a highly regarded manager like steve cooper will probably cancel out the maresca pull though to be honest. At this stage in their career they are on an upward trajectory and the main aim will be to learn and improve. I still think we have a chance to compete against the likes of Forest but generally the spotlight a premier team will bring will win as long as they get game time and they can see themselves being happy and improving.

Key to this will be Maresca.  Didnt this player  play for him when he was Man Citys Under 21 manager?    I agree the premiership is a strong draw but the player himself will know Maresca so that could be key.

He would never be coming here. He will go to a prem team for sure.

This is the most likely scenario if we’re being honest with ourselves.

Maresca was only at Man.City for twelve months so most of their academy players are unlikely to have been influenced much by him , Callum Doyle not at all , till now.

Get it done. We should have lots of money left from Barnes/Maddison, so where is it? Rudkin and Top spent it on a new horse or something?

We obviously can't spend all the money a lot of it has gone to covering the massive losses we would have otherwise made after being relegated to the championship

He's done two seasons at Man City, 2020/21 and 22/23.

In both seasons he ran the development squads, Taylor Harwood Bellis played 9 games under him in 2020/21 before going on loan to Blackburn until the end of the season.

Doyle played 14 games at City under Enzo.

Don't let facts get in the way lol

It would be good to get this permanent even if it is with a buy back clause. If Man C are willing to trigger a buy back clause in a few years, this player would have to be brilliant. Win win.

Loans are just not great.

Loans are good when you are in our position.  If they fire you to promotion then great.  You might have a chance to sign them later, or you might not.  But either option doesn't leave you with any deadwood, which we are crippled with now.

Hasn't Enzo stated we're struggling to shift the deadwood and cannot bring anyone in until they've gone ?

By the time we've moved on vesty etc this guy will be in his 30s
