Quite disappointed by this one, as it seems permanent with that option.

I really like him and think he has a ton of potential. Hope he does well in Italy. This does leave us very short at left back/LCB with Thomas likely leaving too. Hope we have someone up our sleeves.

This is a bit of a shame really but if he isn't going to play it makes sense - that future fee is funny, absolutely not a prayer they're paying that so he'll be back here in a year, changes the context of the deal quite a bit from what we originally thought.

Only if he does well

Feel strangely gutted about his. I liked him. Seemed like a great character who worked hard - i.e., the type Pearson liked and built a winning team with.

Me too.

Saw him on a tunnel cam last season looking determined and trying to 'gee-up' the others.

Thankless task having just listened to a BR pre match chat mind....

Martyn Glover sorry, getting Martins involved in scandals mixed up.

How can you blame Glover. His job is to find the players that fit the managers system. This was so liable to happen after changing managers and total different systems.

Why do so many on here have to blame someone.

If you want to blame anyone it's Top's fault going for a manager that plays a total different system to what we had.

This one makes me helluva nervous. No direct cover for Doyle seeing as even IF Thomas stayed, he doesn't fit the role.

Sure, JJ could prob do a job there but JJ is also cover for RB and RCB so when he inevitably gets injured, we are short all the way along our back line.

Hopefully we have a replacement in mind but for some reason, I don't see it.

Wouldn’t bet on it unless he’s incredible. Buying him would just be about 250% larger than their current largest transfer. Just saw Sky say £30m buy option - they will never exercise that.

If it’s a typo and it turns out the fee is £13m, then he would be their second largest ever transfer.

Marescas strict adherence to his philosophy will either be the making or unmaking of us as it was with Rodgers.

Because there was so many individual and collective failures that resulted in the most avoidable relegation of all time.

Two of our best players froze this lad out because he dared to take the place of their bang average mate

Sums up the dressing room under Rodgers

How do we know this?

Disappointed. I thought he’d done ok and had good future potential. I’m a bit surprised as he’s one I would have flagged as likely to keep as he’s a bit raw for the PL, but could learn his craft at Championship level. Also better than Thomas.

With Castagne also gone we’re a bit light in cover now at LB, although JJ and Ricky can do a job there.

Oh well
