  1. 1. Now that the transfer window has closed, what is a realistic points total for the season?

3 points a game average so far, that's not going to continue but definitely feel 2 points an average is achievable so think we could definitely get 90 plus points which would be amazing and surely see us finish in that top 2. What do you think?

Not making any predictions. We could easily have a shitshow like Southampton have had today.

107 points.

We've got 12 out of 15 which is a good start but we don't really deserve to be on 12 with our performances. We have ridden our luck with late winners it could never continue.

If our performance levels stay roughly where they are now I can see us being in the top 6 still.  But for me, I haven't seen us play a game yet where I've thought we were a cut above the rest in this league.

So with all that, I think we will end up between 70 and 80 points but it could and should be so much higher.

I think we need to calm down a bit. We were humbled today and haven’t exactly won comfortably yet. This is a tough league and a ling season. I think we are rightfully favourites but I think its a coin flip that we’ll secure enough points for auto promotion.

Still got to be winning it. We can start shitting the bed if we start losing more games in a row.

But there was enough in that game to see that it’s more of a gelling issue than a major issue.

We are on track: 2.67 points per game is title winning form, we can afford a drop off and still be good enough to finish in the Top 2.

I want us to get the record

107 sounds a crazy total, but.....

Having played 9 games, we 'only need 83 points from 37 games. A team winning the Premier league this year, if you think they will have 83 points from 37 games you would think 'yeah, that's do-able'.... we can do this!

It’ll be interesting to see if this side can beat the total set by our team of 10 years ago firstly (102).

Obviously that highest total set by Reading would be something to aim for but it does take phenomenal and relentless form across the entire season to achieve that!

With the squad we have we should be looking at 100 minimum. I'm yet to see a team better than us. Of course we will lose a game here and there but over the course of a season we should be consistently better than most, if not all, our opposition.

If we take from here point per game wise;

2    = 98 points

1.8 = 90 points

1.7 = 87 points

1.6 = 83 points

1.5 = 80 points

(rounding to the nearest whole number)

The average point total for 3rd in the last nine years is 85, with no 3rd place team getting more than 89.

So if we average above 1.7 from here, we should be promoted.

So, something like 17 wins, 12 Draws, and 8 loses.

Or 20 wins, 4 Draws and 13 losses.
