CosbehFox Posted 13 April 2024 Posted 13 April 2024 You can do what Chelsea have done but the purchase price has to be at market value. Derby were caught out badly by this and Villa just got away with it too.

Foxmeister Posted 14 April 2024 Posted 14 April 2024 Charge £5m to make a sub appearance in injury time. There must be a few takers, if I won the euromillions I'd definitely do it and it's not as if Enzo bothers with the bench much. 1
Popular Post Scanchez Posted 14 April 2024 Popular Post Posted 14 April 2024 I just assumed we'd already had the points deduction in the form of Patson Daka. 5

Come on now be serious, things aren't quite that bad. You'll still have a decent squad for this division even if you sell some more high earners. Not to mention you might get some players in who want to grasp the chance with both hands. Of course we could. We have been in relegation form for the last 10 games or so with this squad. Take the genuine quality out, add a points deduction and the sides coming up from League 1 you’d expect to do well, the likes of Portsmouth and Derby. None of them look like a ‘Rotherham’. If we stay down with a points deduction, it should hardly be a surprise to anyone if we went down to League 1 next year.

We are a social experiment I'm convinced of it. 2
Number 6 Posted 14 April 2024 Posted 14 April 2024 Can see now what Brighton should have done following their massive profits...buy up a load of property that you can sell further down the line! 1

Bilo Posted 14 April 2024 Posted 14 April 2024 What chances of FBS reappearing as our shirt sponsor if promoted? They're still on the training kit and it would bring in some much-needed funds.
Sly Posted 14 April 2024 Posted 14 April 2024 https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/further-details-emerge-on-leicester-citys-summer-transfer-plans/ All is good for next season. St Leadger is out scouting Brazil for Bargins!

I'd be interested to see the relationship between FBS and King Power as they could end up paying a conveniently large amount to us if it's a close one. It was certainly a huge increase over King Power sponsorship last time.
Vlad the Fox Posted 14 April 2024 Posted 14 April 2024 imagine if we somehow managed to sue the efl and premier league for damages due to their continued persecution of us against their own rules and the damages won brought us within the allowable losses. 4

The report released with the statements on Friday does say we're seeking damages from them. Doubt it would be enough to cover that though
urban.spaceman Posted 15 April 2024 Posted 15 April 2024 Having said that, the moment the PL carry out their punishment for Man City, we should sue them for half a billion quid.

No sense crippling clubs like that. It also prevents clubs from effectively fixing things. So e.g. you might offload an expensive player and replace with a cheaper one, but an embargo instead would force you to keep the expensive one, as you got no replacement. This has been my main issue with FFP regulations as a whole, they feel like they designed to put clubs in their place who dared, rather than been rationally thought out with sensible policies aimed at stabilising the game. All I want to know, can anyone tell me there is any possibility we could get points deducted this season? No, and the article I read suggests the EFL cant even punish us at all for EPL PSR breaches meaning they cant defer it to next season either (EFL). Edited 15 April 2024 by Chrysalis

Its odd, as the EFL treated stadium sales as against the rules, so its either the EPL choosing a different path or looking for ways to not punish the bigger clubs.

Transfer embargoes actively discourage clubs from selling their best players and trying to get their finances under control. They make further breaches more likely, not less. It's basically saying, "We're punishing you for breaching financial rules - and we're going to make it impossible for you to comply next season, too." 3 minutes ago, Chrysalis said: No, and the article I read suggests the EFL cant even punish us at all for EPL PSR breaches meaning they cant defer it to next season either (EFL). That's right. The EFL can't touch us at all for the EPL breach. So if we don't go up we won't have a points deduction next season for the 2020-23 breach. 1
