Having thought about it - at it's core is disgraceful profiteering.

The club want to force those sharing tickets into getting a membership each OR pay the 25. It's win win for them.

It's not just the control of surveiling the fans it's also the 'getting em at both ends'  attitude.

I've got a mind to **** off mine.

They want everyone digital so they can control your ticket you pay for! And they make extra income on your ticket for resale the club has changed it’s not a fans club anymore they need to pay for the extension to the ground that we don’t need some how

Some of our older supporters struggled with technology.Surely this £25 is  discriminatory.Loyal fans for many years being treated like this it's a disgrace and a violation of a protected right.

Kick ageism out of football !!

It's really hard to knock it on the head(my hand was forced with moving away).Don't miss the hassle of going down the KP(parking/treated like a criminal getting in the ground/Stewards at the end of every game surrounding the pitch like we are a load of Hooligans)To be honest i don't regret giving mine up......Every game is available on different platforms,if you know where to look.....and can have a beer while watching!

They treat the 'None Fan Community' better than the match going fans. Community Club it's all a facade.

I think that's it. What were supporters, are now merely customers. What's the difference?

To my mind, supporters are the people that throughout different ownerships over decades, despite the very mixed up and down fortunes of their club, have remained faithful and continued to pay their money to watch and support their team.  In part, sometimes, perhaps out of a sense of identity and belonging.

Customers in any other sphere are people who pay money on a sometimes regular basis to obtain goods, a service or entertainment.

The difference in the latter is that they can be a bit more transient in that if their product, services or entertainment falls in quality, they are likely to spend their money elsewhere.

Football in general is currently well overhyped in the media and the product or entertainment you receive falls far below the hype in general. In Leicester City's case, despite the top of the table positioning, the actual product or entertainment is sometimes doubtful.

If any of FFP revelations are found to be true, you'd have to conclude that Top and his entourage seem to be fairly inept and poor custodians of our club and, the way things are turning, in relation to their corporate nonsense misguided speak to their 'customers', I'm starting to think that Leicester City as a club would be well rid of the lot of them.

I mentioned this in my email to them.

We are fans, not customers. But if they want to treat us like customers, they need to do much better and bump up their customer service standards a shed load and then some.

Absolutely.

I think the decision will be reversed. They need to look at it and see the error here.

I think it’s down to the club being much bigger than it was previously and so certain things get through to the supporters that perhaps shouldn’t.

Bigger club, more staff, less control, more mistakes and  harder to manage from the top.

My money is on someone above grabbing this and realising it shouldn’t have gone through to press and reversing the decision.

A petition perhaps?

Get a local MP behind it (Not Keith Vaz) with media backing to get some momentum.

Can't imagine Soulsby being involved, unless the club agree to build a cycle lane around the stadium..

The easiest way to make the club sit up and take notice is to not buy anything

in the club shop or the concourse. Go to the pub or take a can and drink it outside.

Turnover is bad enough

He's not an MP...

He was locally, and can still have some influence if he was invited / wanted to.

So, season tickets are up 5% - but if you factor in the extra £25 for the card that makes the percentage increase almost double that in some parts of the ground - e.g., Kop ticket, 5% increase + £25 means its gone from £435 to £483 for the season on  renewal - almost 11% increase.

Worth a thought - do they still issue membership cards? (Rather ironic if they do)

I’m a member but the card doesn’t do anything. All tickets have been digital and my wife gets my son’s ticket on her phone. We’ve never had a problem. I’m pretty sure the charge isn’t for the bit of plastic, it’s they want people off the system long term.

Please do not use the words Vaz and behind in the same sentence (unless its a long sentence)

A big inconvenience...will no doubt be bigger queues as a result with more fans getting in late and a depletion in the match day exeprience. Was really bad with the queues earlier this season and this will just make it worse.

What happens if my phone happens to run out of charge? Basically buggered without a card...

Having seen the Fiveways 'improvements', they're more likely to build one halfway down the East Stand and then finish with a brick wall 🧱

The member card actually does one thing - if you tap it at the fanstore till when buying something, it auto detects your supporter number to add the rewards points. They must have the same NFC tech inside, but barely anyone uses it, so even less eco friendly than the ST cards. We've got well over 10k members so that will be a similar amount of plastic to the ST cards. No mention of getting rid of the member cards though...

Nope. Extortionate and the club surely know it.

But it's just another method to get everyone to a digitised world.

Spot on how long before you need a smart phone just to enter a supermarket
