The club should spend the £25 it received from physical season ticket cards for free blood pressure monitors for all season ticket holders.

Potter would've been a disaster. His heart just isn't in it. He's quite happy cashing his cheques from Boehly and getting up at midday to watch Loose Women and Bargain Hunt.

Cooper may also be a disaster, but at least he'll give the job everything he's got.

Correct

I do. But I'm willing to bet that our net transfer spend this summer will significantly exceed £4m, and I'd happily trade £4m off our outlay on players if it meant getting a better manager in. It has also been reported that we'd be happy to spend £4m on Corberan if Cooper turned us down, so it appears it isn't as big a factor as some people are assuming.

Don't get me wrong, Corberan was and has been my first choice by a Country-mile. Sadly, our ownership/board are incapable of running a piss-up in a brewery and I question whether any of them actually know what they are doing, or what football is.

Can;t blame Cooper for that. This is on Rudkin. The choice has been made so we just have to get on with it.

Potter would have been just as bad a choice, if not worse, than Cooper IMO

He was lucky imo

I think many forget the fortune that Forest got that season. Even getting a completely demoralised Arsenal the game after they couldn't win the league and barely turned up. The season is a marathon and it can't just be survived on fortune, but they definitely got the rub of the green in the last 3rd of the season.

100% agree with all of this.

I stated a couple of weeks ago when Cooper was first linked that I would rather have Big Sam than Cooper I still think this. Cooper has not impressed and his re Ord with Forest despite them spending over £100 million was abysmal.

Despite that if he is hired I will back him but If we don't get some good results early on I think we will be in trouble and I will be quickly calling for him to go.

I am not happy at all with this backwards uninspiring appointment

Talksport reckon we have a couple of signings ready to go as soon as we appoint Cooper

Welcome Callum O’hare!

Why should it? They’re not a government department, they’ve got no obligation to be transparent about internal procedures

His teams are not solid defensively and they don't score many goals, well at least in the Prem

Potters Brighton were bloody notorious for not scoring goals and we got increasingly worse against substandard second tier defences the further we got into last season. Furthermore there is zero defensive solidity the way maresca and potter play. Its basically 'the opposition can't score if we have the ball' basically the Brendan Rodgers approach to defending. It's regularly taken apart by good pressing and the inevitable bad pass in the snoozetastic horseshoe passing system. I don't think Cooper will go this route and we should inherently be more solid then we were. Whether its solid enough to stay up I don't know but better that than watching more of marescas football hipster bollocks.

Two new players ready to sign just makes me think we didnt want potter, what if Cooper doesn’t want them if that’s not the case. The club is so far from what it was 3/4 seasons ago.

he’s used to having signings forced on him 😂

The 2 would likely be fatawu and gabriel pereira.

Beginning to think he may have been very damaged by his Chelsea experience.

It's not a good look having allegedly negotiated roles at Ajax and Leicester, and not taken either of them.

I'm not remotely bothered that it isn't going to be Potter, for the reasons you describe. I'm just not convinced that Cooper is the next best option.

If it IS Cooper, however, I will get behind him. What else can we do?

To be honest I'm not that bothered at all by what the club does now. It's not like I can afford to go and watch them anymore.

I would be a lot more confident playing Potter, Enzo style than the gungho, headless chicken approach from Cooper.

But hey ho, we all have different opinions.

Just doesn't seem the right for at this moment. It isn't his fault, I like way he speaks and no doubt he will give his all, his record is decent but there is too much going on for it to work well in my view.

Unfortunately, we are still stuck with the people in charge above the manager who are nowhere near good enough.

I have not said anything because I don’t want to ridiculed but since Maresca left and looking at our situation with the points deduction we need a firefighter this season to keep us up and my choice without a question would be big Sam give the whole season he would keep us up for sure with a whole season I just can’t believe know one has mentioned it Steve cooper for me not sure how they have come to a decision like that like someone else said good championship manager and he will definitely give everything but can’t get that appointment if he is appointed

Let’s forget the Forest connection. I mean Martin O’Neill and Wes Morgan had pretty strong Forest connections.

Can he do the job? It’s very difficult to know. He did brilliantly to get NF out of the Championship, but they were always going to struggle first season in the Premier League. Signing 10 players would have helped their cause, but I’m sure signing 615 players was a bit of a distraction.

To be honest it’s going to be difficult for any manager coming in with pending points deductions. We need someone who’ll motivate the players, short term, rather than someone who’ll develop a footballing philosophy long term.

I think we must all be bed wetting. I know Rudkin is a pillock and Top isn’t his Dad, but surely to good god they’re not stupid enough to appoint Cooper and talk about our long term vision. You might as well hold up your hands and admit all the tippy tappy crap has gone out of the window and we know relegation is coming so we are just bracing against reality.

Cant say as I’m massively convinced by Potter, but slightly more so than Cooper. I think Cooper would give his all but I doubt that would be anywhere near enough.

There are other options out there, lots of them. Currently the optimistic bus is hanging over a cliff with us at one end and our hopes at the other.
